Spring shouldn't pop out. Compressing the spring and limiting its expansion keeps it from popping out. Use a jack on the control arm if you need to. Serves same purpose as the shock by limiting spring expansion.
Thank you for sharing. It made the DIY easy. I have the same year car and model. The differential axle oil seals are leaking. Have you DIY replaced yours? Do you know if a special tool is required to remove and reinstall them? I'm like you. Screw the dealership and their rip-off fees. Thank you.
I didn't so axle shaft seals on the Challenger but I did a video on axle seals for my P71 Crown Vic. I'd assume the procedure would be similar (save for the solid axle vs half shaft part). You can find that video on my Crown Vic P71 album. It's along one, but if you skip towards the end, where a swap the seals, you can see the tools I used for it.
@@HollywoodHornet Sir, I honestly was not expecting a response. I really appreciate you for taking the time to help me out. I will check out the video. Much obliged.
Just viewed the vid. The Challenger application is different; however, the use of the same tools might apply. Brother, feel bad for the crushed finger...ouch!!!! You should have recorded the red-hot pocker remedy. Would have made for a great tutorial too. Cheers!
The car is a 2010. I don't recall the part number. The factory shocks are ZF brand but the new ones are aftermarket and I'm unsure of the brand. I'll see if I can see a part number on them tomorrow afternoon in the light without removing the wheel.
I can't easily see the part number but the after market shocks are "StrutTEK" brand. I'd google "Streuttek rear shocks 2010 Challenger" and go from there.
Yeah shops are a damn ripoff best to learn how to work on your own vehicle, I have a 2012 challenger rt I have to replace my rear shocks thanks for this video seems like a piece of cake
My car is very low in the back, will replacing these fix it?
Suspension sag is generally spring failure. Shock failure results in a bouncy and clunky ride.
so how do you hold the spring fron poping out like you said thank you great video sir

Are people so freaking stupid that they ask such dumb arse questions? Yes
Stupid is come to another person comment and reply with words full of shit or no?
Did this solve the issues with the clunking noise?
Yes
@@HollywoodHornet thank you
Great fuckin video bro, thanks for the tutorial. I'm definitely doing my own now, fuck the shop. Nice touches with the MK3 and Sonic 3 times too 👍💯

I see you're a man of culture as well. Only the enlightened appreciate the 16-bit tunes. Screw the shop and replace those shocks yourself.

Difficult watching ur videos. Your thinking as a mechanic is difficult to follow.
