I am an American. I loved the Queen and I think that the monarchy has a place in modern times but it will have to evolve. The monarchy is not a joke, they exude class in a tacky, self-centered world. I also think Kate is a very strong and powerful woman. She is a force to be reckoned with.
I should also say that I do believe MM is a "plant" to bring down the monarchy because no one would have helped her (like Oprah) unless it was a plan. She was a D-list actress. If you want a one-world government, you have to bring down the institutions that bind countries together.
The only reason that it has remained so old fashioned is because our late Queen liked it that way. It has changed with King Charles and will evolve further when William becomes King. Over my lifetime I've seen the slow decline of the values that we English took for granted; values that held us together, told us who we were as a nation and as individuals within it; families that ate their meals together, who conversed rather than sat being hypnotised by the television, the decline of the church, respect for the police, a cohesive society, and now attempts to bring down the monarchy. From time to time I've thought it must be orchestrated, but it's just that we took it all for granted. I am an American. I loved the Queen and I think that the monarchy has a place in modern times but it will have to evolve. The monarchy is not a joke, they exude class in a tacky, self-centered world. I also think Kate is a very strong and powerful woman. She is a force to be reckoned with.
I should also say that I do believe MM is a "plant" to bring down the monarchy because no one would have helped her (like Oprah) unless it was a plan. She was a D-list actress. If you want a one-world government, you have to bring down the institutions that bind countries together.
The only reason that it has remained so old fashioned is because our late Queen liked it that way. It has changed with King Charles and will evolve further when William becomes King. Most of the so called rules were followed out of respect to Queen Elizabeth 11 but Catherine does her own thing if she wants to, though sometimes there were good reasons to uphold them or they might just like to follow the tradition.

I was astounded at the incredibly deep love and admiration for the late Queen and if anybody considered the monarchy obsolete, look at the massive crowds and outpouring of love and sorrow, it was uplifting , same with the coronation of the new King , ancient ritual and yet understood , instinctively, by the people, Britain and the monarchy are synonymous , overseas the monarchy is respected and you see it on foreign visits, Royalty is a level above all else, it's detached yet symbolic of the intrinsic values of Britain, justice, freedom, democracy and stability. Love that the UK retains its Monarchy. Is it anachronistic in a modern democracy? Yes. Is it archaic? Of course. Is it a symbol of a class system? Yes. But do people think abolishing it will do away with that? Or suddenly make everyone rich? It is a charming, unique link to a rich tapestry of history (in all its shades of good and bad) and that would be a sad thing to lose. I have every confidence that King Charles and King William in their time will be good custodians of the Crown

As an American, I am embarrassed by this disgraceful woman. I feel like I need to apologize to the lovely people of the UK, she’s an awful, evil person. I love what the monarchy brings to the UK.I think it creates a non political community in so many ways there feels to be a warmth so often in England, a pause in tension to celebrate many occasions.
