I’ve worked with young men between 16 - 24 who were comfortable underachieving. They were given everything and grew to believe that Mom or somebody was always going to do things for them or bail them out when they messed up!
I definitely upset a ton of parents and young men…initially! However, overtime the majority of them came to see what I was doing and where I was trying to lead them! The few young adults who never bought in ended up in jail or working jobs they are miserable doing and/or STILL living with their parent(s)! Some of them call now admitting that “their way” was wrong and are sincerely seeking to better themselves. Coach Sanders is doing precisely what he has to do in order to get Colorado out of the basement. Work comes before the fun stuff! When Nick Saban bombed coaching in the NFL at Miami, he learned some very valuable lessons in how to deal with professional athletes verses college athletes. When he arrived at Alabama they weren’t exactly scrubs, but they were underachieving! Saban served notice on the players in much the same way that Sanders did and not one person in the media printed anything negative about it! The players that stayed and bought in laid a solid foundation for the winning program that Alabama is now! Allow this man (Coach Prime) the grace and time necessary to do the same at Colorado.

Some of them won't have enough talent. It's not all about effort- he's going to want guys that are bigger and faster and quicker. The portal, instead of a benefit to the student athlete, is a way to 'fire' them without cause.

So no one's gonna talk about how JSU said that they were gonna give him a percentage of the ticket sales and they didn't pay him. As a matter of fact they took the money and put it in the general scholarship fund and not back into the football program that made the money. If I give half of my salary to help upgrade the facilities and the school is stealing money that the football team made why would I stay there? They were having problems keeping count of how many people were in the stadium somehow the ticket sales didn't match the number of people that were in the stadiums wonder why is that? At the last minute supposedly they offered him a 7 figure deal but they wanted him to pay his coaches out of that 7 figure deal so he would have been still making 6 figures or less And I say less because he probably would have had to still upgrade the facilities using his own money. The TV ratings are in and only 300000 people tuned in to watch Jsu play last week. There's more than 300000 black people commenting on whether he should have stayed or gone. The land of the European freeloader given so many advantages and resources by murderous rapists and killers themselves who had to use the same blk labor for free for centuries. Not only were they used but their families were taken away separated and there was sexual abuse. Do your history look up homestead act! I get blks have some issues and they do but Europeans lol all I can say is God waiting on them and their kind bcuz all that money that they have been stolen and continue to steal from blks in Africa huh he is coming for them and their families who continue to show the same greedy tendencies to live deliciously on earth. But that’s just fine bcuz guess what same rules and power dynamics won’t apply in heaven and Europeans resumes and references will be checked and remembered from their history on earth. You don’t go about it the same way since your stuck with the players you have. But if I don’t have a qb, I will put an athlete there and throw the ball 5 times or less a game, if I only have 1 good wr then I will use te and fb and dig deeper into my playbook, if my ol isn’t getting the job done I will put skill players there, on d I will only run what my personnel is capable of; I have ran a d with 0 linebackers before with my 2 safeties parked at lb, we played cover 0 all day as I had great corners, had 6 down lineman and with 1 end capable of bouncing out if they went 4 wr and we wreaked havoc; 2 pick 6’s, 15 sacks, countless tfl’s and an epic 4th quarter comeback (down 30-14 and running off 26 straight in the 4th including a pick 6 as time expired during their attempted game winning drive)

BUT, sometimes when you push too hard the structure might crack, so you gotta be careful. Going undefeated with 5 star recruits in the FCS is one thing, but Colorado had the toughest Strength of Schedule this past season so not everything will go to plan next year. Will the hard pushing create frustration and perhaps resentment that then turn into losses? We'll see. But I do believe the quality of play out of Colorado is about to increase dramatically. If they get the wins, no one will care how harsh he is, if they don't then morale will drop and top players will stay away.

This is how life works. They jump in and out of the portal and have a right to go. He has the right to tell the guys that can’t play to hit the bricks. This is how it works when you get paid in the big boy world.

Problem is, these are scholarship athletes. They made a 4 year commitment to that university. I don’t think it’s wrong to want competition, but to force them out of the university cause you want to start your own kid before a single practice is classless. That’s not competition, that’s attention craving.

@@dylanspurlock6150 these boys went 1-11 let’s be honest if any of them could actually play coach prime would keep them. But these boys ain’t all that and he’s gonna bring in boys who are better just the same way these athletes can leave a school now with no penalties they can also be thrown out with no penalties. Also prepares them for the real world. If this was a company that performed as terribly as they did they would all be fired.

@@willardmatsaudza3101 Again, I get it. Competition is great, the problem is he’s not pushing competition. Announcing that your position groups are already taken care of cause you’re bringing other guys in is just stupid. It’s stupid. There’s zero character behind that statement. Let’s be real about that

@@dylanspurlock6150 yeah but if they went 1-11 and he’s bringing in better players that’s sports bro what are we discussing here if those boys want a spot they need to compete they went 1-11. He’s not gonna replace all of them but he will replace the ones that can’t play. Again they get paid like pro athletes so they will be treated like pro athletes
