I think this is my favourite “Then we fight” challenge concept!! Hope you do this more. It made that best 2 of 3 battle so much fun!
This was one of my favorite videos for a couple reasons.
First, I love how the Nuzlocke rules make each battle affect the next one, so it’s basically impossible for any of the battles to play out too similarly.
Second, I love the multiple appearances of Leo in this video.

This is such a phenomenal format. I would love for there to be a read off of what each person caught so that there can be some extra spicy shenanigans kinda like a draft league but just for a best of 3.
This definitely seems like a concept that can be repeated down the line without getting repetitive.
Just make sure Vinny actually randomizes his game if you bring him on… 😂
I mean if you want to win it'd be better if he didn't right? Then he can't get any of the Legendaries, and most of the routes will have low-tier common pokes. 😁

Since it comes up in almost every video, let me tell you something about box art legendaries: They are NOT all easy to catch. Most of them only are in their original games or maybe one generation after that and then their catch rate is lowered in later games. For example Dialga and Palkia originally had a catch rate of 30, but it's been 3 ever since ORAS.
In SV, every box art legendary has a catch rate of 3 (even Koraidon and Miraidon) with the exception of Zacian and Zamazenta (who have 10, which is still not that high). And technically Xerneas and Yveltal still have a catch rate of 45, but they're not in the game. If they were, they probably would have their catch rate reduced to 3, because the same thing happened to Solgaleo, Lunala and Necrozma in SV.
Someone give this man a scene to address the crowds and speak the truth!

Apparently Dakest Lariat was a TR in Sword and Shield and that is how Poliwrath can learn it.
But this isn't Sw/Sh
This is Sca/Vi
And according to both Pokemon Database and Bulbapedia, Poliwrath does *NOT* learn it in this generation - Does not learn TR 093 Darkest Lariat

@@PJOZeus AFAIK only some moves change. Some specific moves. Deleted moves (they don't exist at all in the "new" game), stuff like that.

I liked this concept. Usually when there's more than one battle in a video I'll watch the first and then play the rest as background noise because it's always the same pokemon battling. I actually watched all three battles in this video and they were so much fun.

Loved this format really adds spice and weight to each battle.
I think this is a really good format, and it adds a good twist to battles within themselves since you’re playing to preserve things even when they’re no longer of any use in that particular battle
This imo is the best then we fight formula, the changing in teams each Pokémon for a logical reason has me watching all 3 battles when I hate to be that guy but (adhd) I usually take the first battle as the result, but having it nuzlocke style changes the context and makes it feel like the final battle winner is the actual winner rather than the first battle winner
Please do this again it’s a fun mix that is just so sweet and fits your content the best!

Shady has a good boi. Fidough might not be as strong but it's better than Kyurem where it counts. In the heart.
Here's the new idea:
1. Randomly generate 3 starter pokemon each
2. Choose one pokemon starter (i.e. left, middle, right) to fight with their typing against opponent starter choice (you are not revealing the pokemon, just the type and only AFTER both of you lock in left, middle or right)
3. Whoever loses the type match up faints and cannot be picked for battle (in case of a draw, both pokemon faints and cannot be chosen)
4. Do it with all 3 starters (you only consider types (both types matter so if it's water/dragon it is weak to dragon and fairy (freeze dry doesn't count because it's a move not a type))) and i repeat: you are not telling eachother what the pokemon was.
5. Once the "type battle" is over you can pick from whatever remains not fainted.
6. If you happen to win all 3 type matchups you will blindly choose for the opponent their starter (by that time you will know their types).
7. After 6 rounds you battle for real
Note: if it's a draw 3 times during one round - both of you have to reset starter choices.
That's about it, have fun
p.s. If you want to make things more spicy make abilities randomized and if you win all 3 type match ups you can choose the ability you want for your pokemon in that round.

this is honestly really interesting because barring some obscene get where only one person gets anything good, just getting a really strong starter isn't enough, everything around it will likely crumble and make the team as a whole weaker in the next fight.
Fun fact! In Scarvi, if you have a pokemon registered as caught in the pokedex, it will always be a critical capture when you catch it. So if it's not a critical capture, it will always break out. So for that iron boulder at the end, Shady could have known the catch would fail as soon as it wasnt a crit capture.

I dont know what happens behind the scenes or why it"s very minimal this episode or you're trying something new, but I would just like to say the old format of the POVs switching randomly I would say just flows so much better, and helps the watchability of the vid. It also helps cause both of our guys are not mirrored, so they don't look off. Still a good vid, but the singular focus on the past videos had made it much more fun for me. Ciao!
Great idea! Having to improvise on the fly certainly added a new element to the fights. Only thing I'd also like to see is that this goes until one person loses all their pokemon. Then there's some real incentive to maximize catches during the opening.

Might be a bit long to play out, but if you had a Nuzlocke tournament/ round robin style format where four of you catch Pokémon and then keep battling until only one of you still has Pokémon alive.

(Long Comment) When I was getting back into VGC when this game came out I was throwing out an idea to my friends where you fill a box with the nuzlock encounter rules and do a bo3 or bo5 fight with it but if a mon faints during the fight its dead. Called it NGC or nuzlock game champion ship rules. Lot of effort for it but it did sound fun. Not saying you guys should do that but watching this video reminded me of that. Loved the videos thoe keep up the great work.

Shady, box arts in old games are low catchrates because you have an actual battle with high stakes against them. Box arts in newer games have high catchrates because you have to catch them to progress, otherwise you rebattle them.
For next then we fight video use metronome to choose Pokemon if your random encounter die you can't catch it, only 1 Master ball after using metronome. You have to first use metronome.
