Same with frost, super fun to parry her with a short Spear and time try to time frost bite to when she waterfowl, it knocks her out of the sky canceling waterfowl, switch to +0 secondary fire short Spear stab once then switch back to frost rince n repeat

My personal favorite in the base game, it just screams "Main Protagonist" armanent! like the Master Sword. while its far from optimal, it, along with the prince of death staff and golden order seal brings my Faith/Int hybrid build together. I love the way you incorporated Incantations, Sorceries and BOTH weapon arts into the fight, I love playing with wide variety of different magical elements so this is the first Elden Ring showcase where I feel truly represented :)
I’m actually trying to do an int/faith build after trying discus of light on an unrelated character. So I’m definitely gonna try using this sword. Discus of light, ancient death rancor, giants flame take thee, sounds like a good time.
@@enlongjones2394 Golden Order incantations and Death sorceries are actually really good even with sub 80/80 casting stats. Ancient Death Rancor is great for staggering, which you can follow up with the Sword's Comet to just piledrive shit. Explosive Ghostflame is fantastic for making the battlefield more dangerous for your enemy, and Discus of Light and Triple Rings of Light can shred anything that's not extremely resistant to Holy damage. In fact, Discus is how I deal with Death Rite Birds to get the Death sorceries easily. Put on Sacred Scorpion Charm, use Golden Epitaph's Last Rites ability, drink a Faith Knot/Sacred Cracked Tear flask, and just melt through Death Rite Birds.
yeah, using the flame stance only, I managed to get hit only once and it was from tic damage from scarlet aeonia because I didn't get out of it fast enough, which has been my best Malenia kill to date.

Yeah, the fire move of the sword is ridiculously powerful, but cheap version of comet azur is kinda meh, and sword itself is kinda dogshit. Generally this sword is good when you're making int/fai build, which gives you a lot of opportunities, but with that method of leveling you just can't use decent melee weapons. I'm not saying this sword is useless, but in most of situations and late into the game it becomes more and more weak to the point when decent numbers of damage will be seen only when you execute special moves
And on top of that , this sword has Bad scalling so you need lots of stat points to increase it's dmg , so even if you are overlevel is not that good for this case as you might think. In the other hand, a build with good choice for talisman could impact more than just leveling stats with bad scalling weapons.

i mean, it makes sense. fire holds back the rot, so of course the goddess of rot is gonna be weak to it.

This is an ash of war called vow of the indomitable, it makes you invincible while you use it.
