He didn't thin 🥺
Yup but I wanted to see if it would cover in one coat like they show in their videos 🙂
@@MiniatureHobbyist still need to thin
While the paints might seem thin, you will get a much better and smoother result if you thin them with a little water. 😊
Yup but I wanted to see if it would cover in one coat like they show in their videos 🙂
Mate you have got to start thinning your paint with water. You ruin the basecoat
That hurt to watch.
Yup but I wanted to see if it would cover in one coat like they show in their videos 🙂
Damn that’s too thick!
Yup but I wanted to see if it would cover in one coat like they show in their videos 🙂
Definitely needed to thin those paints.
This came out so well!! Nice!
What kind of marker did you use there? Came out rlly well. Does sharpy work too? I know I saw you use that before.
Of all the model shops I have here in Madrid, Spain, only one of them has Army painter paints, and they don't even sell them. After watching this video I understand perfectly, they are tremendously bad.
God that is terrible !
Im excited to get my hands on some of these. Their marketing has been pretty insane. I could see me using rhem regularly if the consistency between colours is on point. Ak gen 3 are my current go to
Sweet a Gaslands / wasteland build!
I've just built a 231 piece 1:25 kenworth truck for my dad there's quite a few things that will never been seen but still had to get rid of every mould line , it's a 30yr old revell kit so the mould lines were plentiful
Coolness👍 looks like rotoscope or the old video game borderlands.
You rock
Thank you so much bud 🙂
Love painting Gaslands vehicles this way
It is fun and looks cool 🙂
That yellow coverage is insane
Over white then one coat would have done, even if thinned down 🙂
Cure the failed prints. If it won't work as a mini, it can be used in terrain.
Haha, yeah I should have, it would work well as scatter terrain 🙂
Wow, this style is great! I started painting my Borderlands: Mister Torgues Arena of Badassery miniatures with SpeedPaints, but i think i will start all over again with those paints and that painting style!
Man even after a single coat of yellow I'm impressed with how well that covered over black.
I wouldn't even try to attempt that with any other brand, and especially the older army painter warpaints
It would be great to see you make another video giving these paints another try, thinning them down and painting something with a little more care. Your opinion matters to us.
Impressive effects to that paint and color scheme. It truly pops out.
One old tip I learnt in an art class was not to paint a base coat of a very light color like medium or bright yellow on top of a very dark under coat like black or near black gray, even if the under coat is glossy. A light gray undercoat is easier to cover with a bright yellow hue. It has something to do with pigment density and effect and should let you use less of the yellow paint to strong effect.
He knows. He picked black primer on purpose.
Thank you so much, I wanted to see if it covered in one coat like they kinda advertise, normally I would do this style on a white primer and thin the paint 🙂
Acrylic pen might work well for the black lines , gundam markers, I always worry about paint bleeding with black markers they sometimes have a purple sheen to them as well
If they leak its still fine as you dont need to be too neat but yup the purple may ruin the effect 🙂
5:55 where did you get that superglue aplicator ?
I buy the same glue on Amazon but the top always goes to 💩 before its half finished.
I got it from amazon, they fit on all types of glue nozzles 🙂
I like the weird wobbly stuff
Nice video as usual one question What do you do with the supports and bad prints? Thanks for your hard work look forward to the next one
Cheers buddy, unfortunately it all goes in the bin, I did used to keep some of it to make scatter terrain but then I had too much 🙂
Just ordered the Corvus Belli REM Racers game and will be making my first attempt at cell shaded style on the little cars as it seems the perfect and in keeping with the art style of the rest of the game. Obviously these are much smaller vehicles than the on you have painted but good to see a tutorial on vehicle painting in this style. I am lucky enough to own some anime production cels that I can use as reference for where the 'highlights' go. One thing I have noticed is that there is a difference between 'comic book' style and 'anime' style, in the later the highlights tend to follow the normal rules of positioning but simplified, in comics they tend to be more random as in your paint job (also the style used in Borderlands video game). Cheers.
I never know where to put highlights and have watched lots of other people paint this style and it seems it almost doesnt matter but still gives the same fun effect 🙂
I do agree the rule of cool beats all but I may try 'realistic 'highlights ' on an anime style paint job on REM Racers. It may take some photoshop work to show me where they go but worth it. Cheers@@MiniatureHobbyist
I intend to paint the minis from Mister Torgue's Arena of Badassery in this style. Which is why I have not touched those with even a base coat yet.
Oh cool, have fun with that 🙂
Same here, i already started with the speedpaints an a thin black pen, but THIS art style is so clever. Wish i could see it on models with smaller surfaces / parts (Enemies or so)
but to be honest - Borderlands doesn't look THAT cartoony anymore :-)
Love the final look! I've got to try this out. Thanks for the video.
Cool, have fun 🙂
I look forward to try it out.
Cool, have fun 🙂
I love what you did with my Car ❤
Its an awesome build, very mad max style, I love it 🙂
Nice, need to try this also
It is fun trying something different 🙂
