This is flying at its purest. Today I spent almost 10 hours operating an Airbus A320 over Europe, which is nice, but coming home and seeing this video has been so inspiring and a reminder of how much more in touch with the experience it’s possible to be. No computers, no radar vectors or twisting knobs on a panel, just you, the stick and the kingdom you survey. Would love to try it!
I know the feeling. When I fly for my job it's fun but you can easily forget you are flying. When you fly an ultralite, you know EXACTLY what's going on.
After my father lost his pilots license due to heart conditions, he had an ultralight. I imagine this is how he felt when he flew. He rode motorcycles all his life and this was his thrill in life. An excellent example, thank you for sharing this.
It is very inspirational watching the airman-ship of this young lady. It encourages me to return to aviation after being grounded by cancer. Thanks for these postings!
She cracks me up! Her little feet go down like old Flintstones cartoon when she slows down, stops an instant teenager, got check phone an send a text! Awesome, shes so confident!
I have flown into that airport one time but have hung out there many, many times over the years. Always enjoy chatting with the personnel on duty. Used to have good conversations with Pete.

This was nice,i found this really relaxing to watch....probably not quite so relaxing flying through.she has to be aware of sudden gusts etc..very nice flying and excellent landing...
This is my first visit to this channel. Halfway through the video, I used full-screen on my 20-inch monitor and the view was dramatic. I can see what it takes to fly: the foot controls and the steering column. Small movements, nothing dramatic. Thanks for the ride!
Indeed flying at its purest, no radials or inner/ outer markers no autopilot, in fact no distractions for what is the greatest feeling in the world. Cant beat an open cockpit and the wind in your hair. In todays aircraft we have lost that basic 'feel' of the aircraft and what it wants to do. Sensing when it will stall or drop a wing. Flight should be an experience you feel within your heart and soul, no fear just the desire to reach greater heights to live your dream. You will go far Alina with you wonderful Papa's teaching and care. Flying intoxicates our blood it cannot be equalled. Yes I agree I do adore her 'brakes' 😉
Her video randomly came up in my feed while I was looking at place to view at the Mach Loop in Wales, heading there next week, I can imajin her flying there one day, “Dream, Big work hard, & let what you love, be what you do”🤙🏼🙂🐕🐑
It looks like you got the same weather we had Tue. 78 degrees in Rock Island Il. Love to watch Alina fly. Today wednesday didnt get above freezing. Jer
I know nothing about ultralight flying, but I would want a helmet, jacket, pants, boots, and gloves. I have a good friend who was in a serious accident in an ultralight. It left him with permanent injuries.
Everything about this is so RIGHT on! But flying open cockpit w/out protective helmet seems so wrong given the great choices in PPG these days. There's no easy recovery from head-trauma in the unlikely event of a survivable crack up. I often wear a helmet and my aircraft is closed cockpit. Just say'in - thank you for reading and keep up the great flying Alina. Respect.
Thank you for an enlightening phone conversation William. I am convinced that Alina is getting the preparation and knowledge she needs to safely pursue her dreams of flight.
Hello Mr. William, I enjoyed seeing another flight from Alina. How big is this gas tank? Is it more than 5 gallons? Thank you and good flights to Alina.
Like my daughter I love her too. Your dad loves you very very much and he cares for you more than anything. In the world like I do my daughter be careful, my dear.
I was interested in ultra lite flying back when the planes were made of very thin stone. I had a wife and family. Me and a work friend went to an air field met a guy and asked him some questions. I asked him about flying an ultra lite and life insurance. He said if you crash have a friend drag you out to a road make sure you are dead then run over you with his car. It had to look like a different kind of accident. Alina you make jealous and it looks like you are a real pro. You will be just fine!
Exelente mi saludos a esta chica q lindo ver esa actitud de aprender y q tenga toda la ayuda y acompañamiento en esto algo tanto lindo volar . Un saluditos a todos y cuidencen
They fly low where there isn't any commercial aircraft and from airports that commercial aircraft done typically use. They aren't allowed to fly to airports that have a tower unless prior permission is given. And no flight plan is filed. Flight plans are pretty simple.
Hello when the engine was switched off did it diesel on? or run on? It sounded like heat in the plugs ignited un burnt fuel in the combustion chamber? Or is that just something microlight engines do ? May be worth pointing heat sensor gun at the plugs an check temperature is correct. Cheers
If you are a pilot and you like to fly, whatever type of aircraft, you’re flying, you know there’s a chance you could end your life that way but your love for flying outweighs the fear of dying that may sound a little crazy if you don’t fly but that’s just the way it is
Everything we do from running a table saw to doing home wiring runs a risk. Life was never meant to be totally safe. Nothing in life is without risk including just driving. It was meant to be lived! Great flight and landing. At 60 I would love to try the same one day.
@@donepearce I understand. I didn't think you were being critical. What I meant was, part of the reason I taught her to do that with the elevators was to keep the nose lite while providing some aerodynamic braking. She just knows that she's supposed to hold the yoke back.

This is a powerful post!
Careful! Moving from the big jet to li'l bitty airplane upset by a couple knots of gust has claimed too many ATP lives.
@@erickborling1302 I agree, when I switch back and forth there is a bit of a recalibration necessary.

Love it!! Thank you for sharing your exhilarating experience!!
I love how you look so relaxed and confident in yourself flying up there... I'm so jealous!
Indeed, and she stuck that landing.
Alina, you are one brave lady.
One very lucky young lady to have a Dad that allows her to fly around in her own ultra lite whenever she wants to.
Well...maybe not whenever she wants... But close.
With her flight experience I think she has earned a few more flights! Go Alina!
Having a daughter of my own, I would day one Brave Dad 😂. Go girl, enjoy!

I like how she did the "Fred Flintstone" braking at the end
LOL I just said same thing..LOL
The greatest thing he can do is what he’s doing for you and with you…. And seeing you grow more and more…!
Amazing video but, as the old seagull said, "You'll never get me up in one of those things!"

Wow nice little aircraft!.. how much is one of those & do you need a pilots license?.👍
24k. No license needed.
She must have grown. Her feet/legs reach the pedals better now.
Do these ultralights ever get in the way with commercial aircraft? Do they have to contact a tower and have a flight plan?

They aren't allowed to fly to airports that have a tower unless prior permission is given.
And no flight plan is filed. Flight plans are pretty simple.
Does she have a chart on her left arm or wearable tech of some kind? Awesome landing young lady! How many hours has she logged already?
Yes. She has airport info on her arm. She doesn't log her time since it's an ultralite but she probably has about 100 hours.
@@williamh.scottv438 some very impressive flying! Be nice if the hours she flies in the ultralight could count towards her license.
Young ........... Earned her wings .
I'm gonna have to look into getting an ultralight. Probably a Challenger ll. That would be so much fun.
What a epic childhood !

What make and model is this ultralight?
Aerolite 103

Are you planning to go to the Air Force Academy?
She is
I lived in Colo.Spgs.she will love it there and the Academy.
Nothing but grease on those landings! Pretty work!
Beautiful flight a toast to you.
Were you using the elevator as an air brake after you landed?
Yes, but she does that because she was trained that way.

sicherlich traumhaft schön, so zu fliegen...aber war das nicht zu kalt ?
What is the make of the Ultra- Light she is flying ?
Aerolite 103. Uflyit.com
How does she prevent from getting slammed into from other smaller, low flying aircraft? I don’t see any lights flashing or anything.
It's part of her training. "See and avoid". She doesn't fly at night.
Are transponders required for this size of aircraft?
No
