I remember one day playing VrChat and the whole server stopping what they were doing because someone was going to see their results for a university application. We were all waiting with pure excitement. On that same day in a different instance, was a guy that blasted a song that had the Nword in it every five seconds.

I fucking hate vrchat players (dw the kid was okay)
Been purposely chased down by a few 'gang monkey' groups just so they could try to give me seizures. Got a recording of them being successful and sent it to VRChat support... nothing happened. This is why I have 'Defense Friends' (aka; tit for tat kind of people~) when I go to any Public/Group Public worlds.
Saw this girl tell her friend she was on shrooms and is anxious so to be careful around her, then her friend starts going into her ear saying "nightmare nightmare" and then she had a seizure, and he started hyperventilating and crying. Interesting experience being in the middle of that

About a week ago I ended up making a friend with someone and we very frequently play audience anarchy with him and his other friend along with some other people he knows. I ended up making another friend who joins our instance frequently who’s a girl and we started to get along very well. Then 2 days ago she tells me on discord that my friend’s friend started to not like having me around because he sees me as competition for getting with her 💀. That’s when I truly realized some people really take VRchat seriously and make it their whole lives. This game is a perfect example of something cyberpunk and dystopian you’d see in a movie or a TV show. It’s honestly just sad 😭

As a VRchat player you can avoid most of this stuff fairly easily as long as you don't go to the virtual "bars" and "clubs" and if you do have someone annoying you you could mute and block them so they can't bother you. I have met many nice people on the game and the worst I've found is little kids squeaking and crying because someone won't turn on avatar cloning.

It's such a huge problem still , particularly in the clubing scene of vrchat and events who put these "hey say your date of birth" guards at the door of explicit events do nothing to stop it. it is about as impactful as a p*rn site asking your DOB... that is to say, nearly non existant levels of impact.Genuinly scary to think how easy it is for minors to jump into vrchat and encounter open and publicly viewable degeneracy so easily with nothing in place to stop it.

I feel like VRChat should HAVE 18+ accounts, avatars, instances, and worlds that require ID verification to join/use/see, and a reporting system for stuff that slips through the cracks. That way minors can still use the platform like other games/social media, but malevolent acts on minors would be a lot less frequent. Everyone gets their cake and eats it. Maybe there should even be more child safety options like parental controls, and youth accounts similar to other social media and video games

Given enough population, there will always be these kinds of people. I think its unfair to completely say "vrchat is just like this" IP Bans are easy to avoid, VPNs are nearly free. Vrchat has an impossible task in trying to squash these people when they can just pop back up in 1-2 hours. If you don't think these kinds of people exist in real life (and probably in your local community), you are clueless. I completely agree that VRChat has a problem (as with all online communities, just go look at the fucked up side of roblox) with hosting these terrible humans, I don't see a practical way to avoid this in any online Free-to-play game. Most VRChat communities are closed off for a reason, to avoid allowing people like this into their communities.

Kinda funny how even tho I've been playing the game for a few years, I only joined a public world once because of friends. Regretted it ever since and decided to never step into one ever again. I'm not really a social person in the first place, but that experience was SO bad. DIdn't help either that I was (and still am) trying to avoid voice chat at all times when it comes to random people. Getting called out for it constantly and having people come after me all the time in that one session only soured the experience further, as my anxiety only got worse in that moment and I eventually had to leave the world to cool off. But looking at the video, I might've dodged a bullet in the end.
All i do on this game is hang out with my mates who are at diffrent military installations than i am currently at. But watching this and the previous video really makes me wanna find a new game where we can hang in a virtual space.

As a VRchat player you can avoid most of this stuff fairly easily as long as you don't go to the virtual "bars" and "clubs" and if you do have someone annoying you you could mute and block them so they can't bother you. I have met many nice people on the game and the worst I've found is little kids squeaking and crying because someone won't turn on avatar cloning.

It is genuinly concerning to me that despite how much i appreciate some level of attention to some of the more notable cases how much royalty is unfortunately only sratching the surface here. It's such a huge problem still , particularly in the clubing scene of vrchat and events who put these "hey say your date of birth" guards at the door of explicit events do nothing to stop it. it is about as impactful as a p*rn site asking your DOB... that is to say, nearly non existant levels of impact.Genuinly scary to think how easy it is for minors to jump into vrchat and encounter open and publicly viewable degeneracy so easily with nothing in place to stop it.

I feel like VRChat should HAVE 18+ accounts, avatars, instances, and worlds that require ID verification to join/use/see, and a reporting system for stuff that slips through the cracks. That way minors can still use the platform like other games/social media, but malevolent acts on minors would be a lot less frequent. Everyone gets their cake and eats it. Maybe there should even be more child safety options like parental controls, and youth accounts similar to other social media and video games

Given enough population, there will always be these kinds of people. I think its unfair to completely say "vrchat is just like this" IP Bans are easy to avoid, VPNs are nearly free. Vrchat has an impossible task in trying to squash these people when they can just pop back up in 1-2 hours. If you don't think these kinds of people exist in real life (and probably in your local community), you are clueless. I completely agree that VRChat has a problem (as with all online communities, just go look at the fucked up side of roblox) with hosting these terrible humans, I don't see a practical way to avoid this in any online Free-to-play game. Most VRChat communities are closed off for a reason, to avoid allowing people like this into their communities.

Kinda funny how even tho I've been playing the game for a few years, I only joined a public world once because of friends. Regretted it ever since and decided to never step into one ever again. I'm not really a social person in the first place, but that experience was SO bad. DIdn't help either that I was (and still am) trying to avoid voice chat at all times when it comes to random people. Getting called out for it constantly and having people come after me all the time in that one session only soured the experience further, as my anxiety only got worse in that moment and I eventually had to leave the world to cool off. But looking at the video, I might've dodged a bullet in the end.
