It's funny how VR games just completely turns people into maniacs. It's like how anyone that plays Half Life Alyx will spend like half an hour just toying with objects, as if they've just gained sentience and are discovering the world like a toddler lmao.
I always wondered how that fits in Canon, since Russel can see everything you see.
He's probably very confused as to why Alyx is making two dead rats kiss each other, or pretending to answer unplugged phones, or smoking burnt cigars lol.
