Great comparison! I used to use TD Direct Invest, but now use Wealthsimple Trade. I'm only buying Canadian stocks atm, and am very happy with Wealthsimple!
@xoReni Wealthsimple is looks like free but it's not actually they're using our money up to 3 days then we can buy something. I'm not saying other platforms better but it's definitely not free also like you said we should keep our money in their account always.

@@estheronyegbula7662 you can either learn or try other options like mutual funds, ETFs, index funds, etc. I have videos on the difference between managed directing and self directed ☺️
Wealthsimple doesn’t offer options trading. That combined with the longer lag in transfer time is the biggest difference between those two brokerages. TD funds transfer time isn’t instant either.
TD research reports is better than most of Canada’s biggest brokerages but it’s not fantastic. I hear that Quest trade is better but I didn’t check it out yet.
TD has now introduced purchasing Partial Shares, but get this. Your auto DRIP reinvesting of Dividends paid still do not use Partial Shares? This is the main reason for Partial Shares. Best to have all your DRIP plans with WealthSimple which does invest DRIP Dividends in partial Shares. WealthSimple wins hands down over TD.

Yes it’s one of the cheaper banks but still pretty expensive!

TD now has Partial Share but not for DRIP Programs like WealthSimple does, and TD charges large Commissions, unlike WealthSimple free commissions.
