Wing diver has two playstyles now. High mobility rapier diver Long range high ground diver Choose whichever works best on the mission, flyer is better asgainst bugs and frogs, while snipe-diver is better against flying units and kaijus
@@kirbycarden Rapier has a wider spread which is great for groups of enemies. You can reload the Rapier while using a secondary weapon unlike the Phalanx which has to charge each use. Comparing the Rapier Nova (86) vs the Phalanx M5 (84) on any large monster type (kings, mother ants, cosmonauts, Erginus, Archelus, etc..) the rapier destroys the phalanx in damage from what I've seen. You also lose your charge on the Phalanx when using dash. The only thing the Phalanx has over the Rapier is range, which doesn't matter since if I need range I'm not going to be using either weapon.
@kirbycarden it is the best plasma weapon at 8 stars. 22 thousand damage, insane range, bullet speed, splash damage, and accuracy. The bird core is also really good and even after a full charge off the plasma great, you got about 500 energy left.
Forget the skyhigh core. Try aiming for EX bird core for now, and then go for the EXAM Bird core for typical end-game stuff. If you're doing Inferno, that is.
Plasma heavy cannon (15) and plasma great cannon (55) are kinda strange as they require way too much energy for cores at the same level. When you pair them with a higher level core they become super energy efficient and deals great damage. Gleipnir Is probably much easier to use, probably more useful in most situations. EDF6 kinda screwed itself due to the epic game account fiasco. It’s definitely more fun than Helldiver 2. Real shame.
I just love the Plasma Heavy Cannon. It carried me through my entire Normal run. I jumped straight to Hardest because I've already done Normal and Hard as a Ranger so I've got a bunch of higher level weapons and cores already. But I keep finding myself coming back to the Heavy. Especially with the 200% charge speed of the Big Core. I can't wait to unlock the Great Cannon. 😁

I don't even touch the rapiers anymore, though that might change when I get the inferno gear. Phalanx OP
@@kirbycardenThey will have to pry my rapier from my cold dead hands.
Lol I guess it's good, but why not phalanx? 😂

I hear ya. Good points to consider
I’m glad they covered her up more, it felt really awkward and weird playing as her in the older games
You're telling me. I have family walk in and out of the room, and I'm not trying to be playing some flying bikini lady all the time. 😂
@ that’s what I’m scared of lol
Plasma great Cannon
Yep, that's the one! Haha

That's good to know I think I was contemplating if I was using the right core for it or not
man what level/diff do I gotta do to level up that sky high core? frick grinding

Yeah, if that's the reason it's not more popular, that's a bummer. I'll still play it with friends for years, though. =)

Does wingdiver still have tracking weapons like fenrir? that's what I use for flying enemies in EDF5
Yes! Absolutely. Personally I love the utility of one called ghost chaser that you get early on for supporting the team, but it's a heavy core drain
