Had to give a different sign off this time...How fast do you think McLaughlin can run?
She is subbing 50 in Paris!
49.90
A
49.97
50.2
A mind blowing fact is that her 400m hurdles time is under the Olympic qualifying standard for the 400m.
She ran like 1 second off the winning open quarter time...over 10 hurdles
Soon as I seen this I had to check the mens 400m Hurdels & she's fast! World of had the Mens WR in 1934 & only .2 seconds off the pase in 1956, in the medals at the Olympics all the way through to at lest the 1970's.
dang!
@Ryan-lx6oh its not directly comparable the mens hurdles are set at different heights than the womens,
on a side note Sydney has a case for being the most dominant t&f athlete ever, with how much she is crushing her competition
@@adrianali422 true but tbf women are also much shorter on average.
Her coach man, her coach. Bob is the man! I wanna see her run the 400 flat at the next world championship games.
Same after this year I think it’s time to move to the 400 flat and maybe the 200 as well…she has the flat speed to do it
She clearly plans on doing exactly that
Her coach is amazing. To get results like this you have to peak just at the right time.
Bob Kersee? His reputation as a drug promoting coach is universal, and it has been for decades.
Do you mean Bob "the chemist" Kersee? The same coach/dope peddler behind the WR's of Flo Jo and Jackie Joiner Kersee. You add McLaughlin's new WR to his "clients" WR's that may never be broken. BTW, where was McLaughlin the last two years? Don't believe the injury excuse. I think she was probably got caught doping and was suspended in secret.
Flo Jo was clearly doping and JJK had to be pushed into retirement after excessive PED use.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
I was not expecting this from her at this point. Obviously she’s in great form, but I think we can still expect her to run even faster yet. She has never peaked at trials before…
She has check her trials for Tokyo Olympics
@@melvinekerubo1535what are you talking about. You just named a time when she definitely didn’t peak early. She ran a new wr at the Olympics that’s legit the definition of peaking at the right time
I was really shocked at her time, as she seemed to be as well. To lop two seconds off your semifinal time in a 400m race is unheard of. I actually thought her WR was safe this year, well I guess I was wrong! Plus she’ll probably break it again in Paris in about five weeks time.
@@juismac At the Olympics, then at the worlds, she broke her own record each time, we can count on her in Paris to do it!
We’re a witness to one of the greatest ever. I’m here for it.
She didn’t even grimace in the last 50 like she did in all her other WR record races except for the 2022 US Championship race. She took of 8/10’s of a second to break it again at worlds. If she follows the same pattern of margins as in previous years that would put her below 50. I hope she runs another open 4 closer to her peak, I would love for her to get the AR under her belt this year.
Aunt Luna 🙂
Fun fact: according to World Athletics this was one of the fastest women's 400H races of all time, with a record 4 women finishing inside 53 seconds. Anna Cockrell's 2nd place time ties the 32nd fastest time ever run. And she was 30 meters behind!
"Every now and then I might say that something is incredible." Understatement of the year. Bro says it on every video. 😂
Right. Bro dramatic asl every video 💀

¿ Did We in 60's when we land on moon, did we overuse the term " Bro" every now and then in America? !
Highly educated American never were like that !
If she goes 49 in Paris, a lot of people will announce their retirement from the event.
Yea folks just need to pack it up then😅
I'm not even doing track and I'm contemplating retirement 😅

@@mercb3astjealous bitter and envious people will never see or smell heaven
@@mercb3ast she first made the Olympics at age 16. Age 16! she is one of the best athletes ever and you are jealous of that.
And...she ran that time after losing 2 toenails before the SF. Anybody who thinks Femke Bol has a chance is fooling themselves. Now everybody knows why Kersee had her running 200m races. She hit the 200m mark and took off. In the past she took out of the gate and had to grit her teeth coming home. This time she looked like it was a practice run. Literally every coach on the planet is going to be studying these races. Ever read that SI article when SML broke the WR in 2022? Edwin Moses said Kersee's been obsessed for years with finding someone who could beat Edwin. Kersee finally found his 400mH holy grail - and it's a woman.
Steroids weaken the nail beds.
Nobody gives a shit about the 400m hurdles. She's cherry picking records from an event without elite athletes, with the exception of Femke Bol. Femke should be the favorite in Paris.
@@ronald8792please explain why femke bol should be the favorite?
@@koolkid533 She previously held the world #1 ranking for the 400m hurdles and she also took gold last year at the world outdoor championships. Her resume speaks for itself.

She’s just amazing
Syd could not container herself when lining up. Watching her pace back and forth, I thought to myself, “OMG, she’s about to run FAST”, and when she took off, I thought, “OMG, it’s gonna be another World Record”! WOW…she may just go sub 50 in Paris, as unreal as those words even sound!
BTW, to show her fitness, when she ran 50.68, she essentially said she never wants to go there again because that took every single thing out of her body and it was an exhausting feeling! Here, she ran this time, bounced back up, and was quite “energetic” for someone who just ran that fast! It tells me she’s in shape to go faster!
Yup, I noticed that also. She also said she made mistakes during this race and she will be fixing it in time for Paris
She wasn't evening aiming for it but she did say she'd let it fly for finals
6 or 8 months ago when Femke Bol was making a lot of press for her accomplishments and Sydney was lying low recovering from injury I had banter with Femke fans about how Femke was coming after Sydney and my position was they were delusional given how Sydney was just a different level. It is nice to see Sydney back and showing the world she is at another level indeed.
Femke fans are insufferable. Always bringing up her indoor records as if it means anything outdoors.
She might go sub-51 and be an afterthought. Big fan of both, but Femke cannot do what Sydney just did
@@kc5466exactly 💯 that indoor nonsense annoys me even our best athlete faith kipyegon doesn't run indoors and she is the greatest in middle distance running
Bro, I have been arguing with delusional Bol fans for the past two years to date---I am getting worried though; I haven't heard from them this evening😅😅😅😅---maybe they are cooking up their next bowl of excuses--- I can't wait to taste them, lol
I love femke bol but her fans are insufferable
Man I wasn’t sure she would ever touch this record again how happily wrong I was. She’s gonna go sub 50 in Paris.
Why did you think that? strange-------She is only 24 years old and is only getting better. I do not even think she has reached her peak yet.🤣🤣🤣
I don't think she goes sub 50 in Paris. I do think she is capable of it though but taking off .65 seconds in a month is pretty crazy even for Sydney
@@wesleyowens4089 not sure why taking 0.65 off is crazy when she took off more than that ( 0.93s) in 2022 between the trials and the World championships
I think realisticly she could break 50.5 with good conditions and wind in her favour maybe 50.3 but will have to see. Although for her nothing seems to be impossible .
@@janwantula1773 you don't really want any wind for optimal 400m conditions btw
Syd for gold!
She’s built different, she is the actual goat!!! Her first world

Don't mention Bol as a rival ever 😂!
Haha thank u…been sayin this

@@Jayydubss same! lol
You be fair no one is close to bol either. It sucks for her to have to run in the same era as sydney because she would be a multiple time gold medalist at any other time. Reminds of all the sprinters that had to run with bolt
Sydney is an Island on her own, Bol will have to contend for 2nd place wIth Anna C. (52.64 sec) and Clayton form Jamaica (52.49 sec)
She's just an all around amazing human being!
The reality check for Bol lovers that I was hoping would happen.
yup. they're going to get really quiet now.
same here---they have been making a lot of noise for the past 2yrs------now, they see that fantasy and reality are two different spectrums
@@rayflaherty3441 Very quiet until they cook their next bowl of excuses for why Bol will beat Sydney in Paris.
Why all this aggressivenes? Just chill out guys
I honestly love Femke Bol, but her fans can be annoying sometimes.
Sydney is right up there with Edwin Moses as the GHOAT…
Greatest Hurdler Of All Time‼
Already taken way more off the WR than he did ...and has broken it more times than he did.
Grant Holloway has something to say about that
It's not just about WR's, its about dominance. Edwin Moses won 109 consecutive races. He was undefeated for 11 years!
Now, I'm not saying Sydney can't do that. She is definitely the one who can. But THAT is the g.o.a.t. standard in this event. If we're gonna put her on Moses level she needs to do this for another olympic cycle - and race a little more often. Yes, she absolutely can do it, but I think she will go for the 400m WR.
@@waynebo248 I'm certain Sydney would agree with you. Edwin is the STANDARD of track & field dominance. I think she wants to emulate him, actually.
@@Brewnz88 And honestly, she's got a damn good shot at it with her current performances. Even if she never gets as long a streak as Moses, I think we can all agree that the two of them will absolutely go down as some of the best athletes to touch the sport.
This woman is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS and seemingly unstoppable, My Hero!!
Your dedication is amazing, keep the content coming and I will keep supporting!!!
Sydney took all of the mystery outta the 400m hurdles. Nobody is wondering " who will win in Paris? " they're only wondering will Sydney set another record in her gold medal performance?
You have got to respect her discipline
Even her haters are forced too respect things
Sydney is one of the greatest athletes I have ever seen. Upper echlon legendary status to me.
Seeing how easily she ran 52s in the heats and semis, I was not surprised at today's WR. A tenth of a second per hurdle will get her well under 50 seconds. Competition with Bol may be able to push her to that.
BTW, I liked Anna Cockrell's tribute to Dalilah Muhammad during the after race interview and the way Sydney was nodding her head in agreement.
I can already hear some FB's fan saying "Meh, Bol is going to run sub 51 in London DL in a couple of weeks anyway. Bol's best is ONLY .04s slower than Sydney's THIRD best time." They need to wake up and smell the coffee 😂
Let them continue yapping
@@melvinekerubo1535 LOL, I think Sydney just shut them up pretty good.
Femke could possibly run under 51 but she will still be 10 meters behind Syd. I love Femke, but she's merely human.
You’re literally making things up - no fan of Bol has ever dismissed Sydney’s achievements 🙄
Sydney is nearly a full second faster than Bol. I expect she will drop her time even more between now and next month. She is so fast that she has the luxury of going 75% in all preliminary rounds and then 100% in the finals. Nobody else can do that. That's 1 sexind difference she has is close to 10 meters or more of a** kicking Sydney is going to put on Bol and her delusional fan base!
I remember being upset she didn't wanna also compete in the 400m flat this yr. But then I thought who tf am I to tell a multiple world record breaker on what to run😅. Maaan shout-out to Sydney. Gold is good as hers once again this year💯
Far as I'm concerned she has the rest of her career to focus on possible future 400 meters races😤
I love you believe in Femke but i can't ever see her besting Sydney
Sydney would have to fall to lose to anyone at this point.

She will sub 50 for sure!!
thats kinda wild but hopefully
Not sure about sub 50.. but she’s that amazing I wouldn’t be too surprised if she did!
I mean based on that start and having some left in the tank. The 5o has got to go!
Within 2 years not this year.
But the 'hater' would say that she manipulated the time?? How is that even possible?
10 years from now it won't be surprising if she's still unbeaten. I'll bet she is. Amazing.
It’s wild! Truly an amazing athlete 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
She's a monster. What a time and what a way to do it! I was looking forward to finally watching Femke Bol and Sydney race each other again, but now one has to wonder if it is really going to be a race.
@ 100%, She’s 100% breaking 50 seconds!
It's not gonna happen. She might continue to shave off her times for WR, but sub 50 is highly doubtful.
@phil. How shall that happen? Less strides or higher frequency?
She has the speed prerequisites to run at that level. Her race here was reserved in the first half . The 2nd half acceleration was comfortable, not forced. She’s breaking 50 in the near future.
@@philroberts1614 so you mean same number of strides between hurdles, and a higher frequency.
To go under 50 stride pattern must be changed. That's probably not possible.
@@stonew1927she literally ran it in practice but okay 😂
Absolutely amazing! The 🐐
Yeah...wtf was that.. she's just too good.. her WR race to total race ratio is just insane.. 🔥🔥🔥
That is positively shocking, I wasn't expecting that she nor anyone else would be reaching her mindblowing WR from Oregon 2022 for many years to come, but there it is, amazing!
The way she goes over the hurdles is perfection, as if the hurdles aren't even there. I suppose that's the main secret. She does have a strong 400m flat PB, but the way she handles hurdles brings it to the next level entirely.
The only athlete comparable, with any kind of hope to reach Sydney's record(s) is Femke Bol.
What makes Syd strong is that she is already faster as shown by her times over 200 and 400 m, but she is more resistant finishing faster than the other girls!
I don’t know why you think that she only 24 lmao and you seen her 400 meters times 😂

I wish she would have tried to for the 400 or 200 too... but maybe she is just set on crushing this with a sub 50 at the Olympics and going LEGENDARY
Great video lovely tooth brush, I bought the aluminum, now I want the stainless steel, but would not be mad if I was chosen for the mindus torched one created by you.
“Every now and then I might say something is incredible“.
First time I’ve heard you understate anything. 🤣
I was convinced that for this olympics sydney was going to run the flat 400. I always felt doubling up was unlikely but i thought for her legacy being a 2 event olympic champion would be a unique legacy. However now knowing she's doing the hurdles again it seems clear to me that her preferred legacy is to put the 400 hurdles wr so far out of sight it will stand for decades. So yes, i absolutely think she can & will go under 50 seconds in the olympic finals. Conditions allowing of course, but she is a once in a lifetime talent & i feel privileged to be watching her put in these mind blowing performances.
Olympic schedule doesn't really allow for running the flat and the hurdles together since they're on alternating days in the same part of the calendar. Running both would be a major challenge and I don't think anybody could run their optimal performance in both at the Paris schedule. Maybe at a lesser championships it would be doable, like Bol did at the Europeans last year, but that's against a much weaker field, not at the Olympics with the whole world's field looking to hit peak performance.
will be exiting to see the matchup between her and Bol
Unless Femke has something insane stored for Paris and Sydney keeps healthy, I think it's safe to say that it's a wrap for Sydney to bag the gold. I'm team Femke but Sydney's form is just put of this world at the moment. They are both young so the rivalry will far goes beyond Paris. Let's go Femke, I trust
unfortunately there is no rivalry, it would be nice but we will have to wait for a higher level athlete to see a rivalry
I do not think that there is clear target to break 50.00. The target is to get Olympic gold and hopefully a world record with it. Thus if she breaks 50.00 in Paris it will be a testament to her fitness level and excellent preparation and / or peaking
at a perfect time. It is not reasonable to think that she can run under 51 several times in a long season, so her somewhat shorter 2024 season shows a careful long-term planning for this special Olympic year. She has been preparing for this since August of 2023 and getting some critique from many of us for shutting down 2023 season early - well, she can now prove all of her doubters wrong.
She is so fun to watch and so humble. Depending on the weather in Paris she'll get closer to 50 seconds. Bruce
SOMEONE GIVE THIS MAN rights to the footage
Will be exciting to see what she can bring under pressure, when the Dutch Femke Bol really puts the pedal to the metal on the next Oplympics 🙂
Just WOW!!
Our family watches all the track and field competitions and by far Sydney’s races are the most exciting. If she says it’s possible to break 50 sec this year or next then watch out…. I’ll be there to see it. “ All glory to God!”
At this point I hope Femke can give her a little pressure to help get that sub 50. But man it's going to be tough to be anywhere close after the turn.
Bro, Rachel Glenn high jumped 1.94m and ALSO took 5th here... WOW 😮

Excellent observation! Her conditioning is next level. She hasn't peaked yet, Bobby K wouldn't prepare her to peak for the trials. He'll back her down over the next 2 weeks and ramp her back up for Paris.
She was born 2 run & keep breaking records. She is ready 4 the Olympics!❤❤❤
The kiss from hubby was the icing on the cake❤
I expected her to win it so was watching the race for 2nd and 3rd behind her. Big hand to Anna Cockrell for getting second. She appears to be in much better overall shape than in 2021 (Tokyo Olympics), so I'd give her a good chance of picking up the bronze this Olympics after Sydney and Femke Bol take gold and silver, respectively. Congratulations to Jasmine Jones for running a lifetime best to get the third spot. Shamire Little just out of it in 4th spot (again!) but she needs to be in the 4x400 relay pool for the mixed and women's relays. Too bad the USA can't have two teams in all the 4x400m relay events (mixed, women's and men's) as they'd all be in contention for medals.
Please do a video on the women's 100m hurdles and masai Russell
I just realized she would have placed 7th in the MENS FINAL! Unbelievable! This is why she has been my favorite athlete for the last few years. Shout out to Kenny Bednarek and Rai Benjamin as well.
As great as she is, she wouldn't have taken 7 the place as the men's hurdles are 6" higher than the woman's hurdles. Men's hurdles height 36". ..women's 30". But she ran great. Femme Bol will be running for silver.
Women and men have totally different heights on their hurdles. Men's low hurdles are 36 in. vs only 30 in. for women. Dare to dream though.
@@peterrutkowski8172 it's almost like male athletes are typically 5-6 inches taller than female ones! mind boggling isn't it

It's a whole other kind of race.
@@efisgpr this is dumbest logic i've ever heard because men biologically have stronger muscles in their lower body. You can literally jump higher while putting in less effort if you are comparing men and women. It's easier for them to jump that and the hurdle height is set at a height which challenges men in their respective race as well as women in their races. You are waffling.
I believe she did Gabby a huge favor. Sydney is on a different level. What she did at the LA meet in the 200 was amazing. She has to be considered one of the all time greats at this young age. Truly amazing..
Absolutely amazing! Perhaps Femke can push her to sub 50 in Paris, but the difference between them might be too big, so Sydney will have to do it alone. Wasnt that impressed with Bols time of 22.80 in the 200m at the Dutch championship yesterday tbh. Once again, amazing Sydney ❤
50.30 I'd give her. she would need some closer competition to go sub-50. She's next level. Unbeatable when she's at her best without any errors.
Rai Benjamin , 46.47 in the Men's 400 H !! and what to say about the women's 100 Meter hurdles ? Phenomenal depth & 4th time in History for Masai !

Anyone know her 200m splits for this race and her previous record? The eye test tells me that she went out more conservative this time around and yet was able to have a much stronger finish.
My thought too just from the "eye test". It's one reason i was completely flabbergasted when I saw the finishing time. She really did not look like she was blasting out the first 200 like she did in 2022. which......has to be kind of scary if your name is Femke Bol.

Bobby wants her to hit this:
24.7
25.2
Gettin' there!
You'll notice her first half went up 0.15 and it shaved off 0.18 from the back half.....but that's before her August peak, too.
The back half will come down 0.4 or so just from peaking.
Then, we got: 24.40 + 25.85 = 50.25.
She will add 0.3 to the front half: 24.70
which will take 0.5 off the back: 25.35
That puts her at 50.05 with another 0.15 possibly coming off the last 100 from seeing the clock and laying it all out there: 49.90
@@efisgpr I had noticed that she started more slowly than in 2022. Proof that she will further improve her record!
GOAT. Period.
I'm stunned 😮
She’s amazing! Congratulations Sydney 🎉🎉 let’s get that gold!!
I want her to be on the 4X400 at the Olympics
🐐
She's training to peak over a month from now. Amazing.
That will be crazy if she peaks more than this
Yup! In her post-interview, she said she has a lot to work on for Paris and will be looking at the tape to correct some mistakes, lol
You obviously know track and field. Sydney is nowhere near where she will be in 4 weeks. Bobby K (nor any other coach) would have her training to peak for the Olympic Trials. What you saw on Sunday was just a precursor of what you're likely to see in Paris. Sydney is training for the Olympic Games, NOT the Olympic Trials.
under 50 is definately coming if conditions are good in paris, she is already 48 low 400m flat shape, if the new york granprix had better weather she would have run 48.4 give or take and in this hurldles race she can start first 200m 0,5s faster at least and not get hurt by it
