When applyying these facemask velcros, cut it in half. Simplest solution that makes both mounting easier AND relieves any stress at the middle of the goggles.
Got the DJI Goggles Foam Padding (Soft-Fit), I wasn't struggling with lens depth just looking for better comfort. The new DJi padding is pretty much the same size just foam material rather than leatherette, it cost me £35 including postage and the difference is minimal they are not the the thick spongey padding I was expecting.
Agreed. I sent mine back to DJI for a refund. Minimal improvement and an uncomfortable textured surface. Not sure what they were thinking when they designed this "improvement".
Appreciate your efforts Ian. I guess that with my narrow face and big hooter, I'm going to be holding on to my Googles v2 with 3rd party foam for the time being.
Thanks for doing this! I wonder how that last foam would work if you used the original nose padding (cut it out). FYI - the Soft Fit came into stock about two weeks ago and I received a set last week. Mixed bag based on my review and my face.
@@MadRCI had an email about it being in UK stock a few days ago but heard it sold out in a couple of hours. Wasn't in a rush as mine work fine with stock foam...
Hello Ian, I'm receiving the goggles 2 soft fit faceplate Wednesday. It's not vapor ware. I got the notification one morning, ordered and later that day, out of stock. They sell out as soon as they get them in.
Am I the only one in the UK to find the G2 Goggles... straight out the box this morning... To be the best fitting most comfy goggles i have ever worn. I have many prs of goggles ranging from the Aomway MK1 (the first pr ) to the Orca FPV (last pr) with 4 others in between none of which fit me like these do. I nearly didn't buy these for my Avata having read mostly horror stories of fit... comfort and screen image... but really pleased i decided to take a chance over the Entegra's because of the eye focus adjustment which.. with less than perfect vision would suit me better...and i found this to be perfect for me also. So I say well done to DJI... As opposed to usual comments i make about there way of doing things and price... Might even become a fan now.
Just got the Iflight narrow. Including p&p that's £25 quid down the drain. No better than the self butchered solution I made myself. Crux of the matter however lies in the fact they are trying to address a problem of DJI's making. To make a worse fitting goggle than Fatshark takes a spectacular feat of negligence. As Ian correctly identified on this week's live stream, only Skyzone have managed a good fit. Shame they are not in the digital space.
Light leak from the bottom is the least of problems compared to light leak from anywhere else. Also, it gives you a visual of the ground. Which is handy if you're reaching for the controller etcetera. The nose piece goes out the window on any goggle.
Is t possible to do a 3d facial print with the memory foam like the one used in pillows to create a personalised foam fitting for the goggles? just wondering as this seems to be one of the difficulties when marketing one product for all.
Really cool you have tested these, I have exactly the same issue as yourself. I need to get my face as close as possible to the lenses or I won't see the corners of the screens. The only issue is I already touch the lenses with my eyelashes (actually thought about trimming them, no joke) so if I get the smaller foam I'll probably touch the lenses with my eyeballs 😂
I need that for the integra... I see double in the image and a small relief where the two lenses meet and trying all the lenses that they give does not fix it... they need some fix through software my field of vision without creating duplicity and without strange edges remains at 70-80%. I don't see a battery level, or anything on the right
Hey, have you tried switching the integra foam to the goggles 2? Did it help with the issues you have? I struggle with the same issues. I currently am running the pyrodrone comfy 2 and the work great but the Velcro comes loose in our 104 degree weather and would love and option that “snaps” in like the factory masks. Edit/Update: Proshot has a new Foam coming out mid august 2023. He showcases it on TH-cam.
i have more lightleak at the sides of my face with the original facemask. ive tried the small foam strip from iflight, but that was horrible in quality, the velco just wouldnt stick. and it made the mast wider, which was even worse. also had the same issue with the nose pad thingy. NOw im quite reluctant to try iflights foam again. so i am waiting frot he expensive dji one. xD anyways, cheers!. great video!
A bit off topic here but was wondering if you thought DJI might in future make it possible to use the RC-1 controller with the goggles when flying the Mini 3 Pro? The motion controller just doesn't appeal to me at all.
Hi.. do you have any recommendations on foam for walksnail goggles? The newbeedrone one used to be good for my HDO2 but the last two I've ordered from there are much thinner than the first one i ordered..
I believe the goggles 2 will never be comfortable for me. The shell of the goggle will never have extra room for a narrow face with an average nose. On a side note I just received my hdzero googles and they fit so much better.
Right there with you. We need something to actually customize the nose and face mold part itself a little more. If only DJI had made the faceplate a little deeper, and included a plastic nose piece as a shim or even as a part of the whole faceplate, that would have left so many other options.
key question still open is the fogging or how to avoid it but I guess this will end up in a different video but I also guess that once you are starting to optimice that part you might work on a more perferct shape for better visibility as well cause I bet you then (once it is in pieces in front of you ) find further ideas how to improve that whole face plate to fit your needs better. And that carbon or bamboo printer should be able to do the trick I guess.
Simple solution for DJI would be to offer a v2 style goggle for glasses wearers. Just give us best of both worlds rather than one set of goggle that only works for certain people
@@MadRC I’ve had the Goggles 2 and sent them back because like you I couldn’t focus on the edges. The Integra are much better and not having the separate battery is also so much easier. I’m keen to get a better fit for comfort so a great video for me. I will try the soft fit when I can get hold of one.

the blowing algorithm works very poorly in these glasses, the lenses sweat with any masks. The ventilator turns on very slowly and does not cope! It is necessary that the ventilator works according to the algorithm of the old glasses v1 and v2
@@MadRC I don't find them all *that* uncomfortable, which I suppose makes me lucky. My biggest gripe is the edges being out of focus. And I don't ever really notice the picture being out of focus while I'm flying, it's just really the text that is noticeably out of focus. And it's never really that I can't read the text, either, so I want to just accept it and move on. It's just that I *know* that the text is out of focus and it drives my OCD absolutely bonkers.
The answer: No it cannot. I have tried ALL of the available facemasks and nothing fixes the face-torturing, nose-smashing, tiny lens, fuzzy-perimeter Goggles 2.
in mi opinion all goggles are unconfutable to wear, lest face it ,no pun intended ,some things just have ,some negatives but once am on the air on 1080 p all things just click in!!

Hi Ian can you share the link to the last foam you tried out?
the one that is not a facemask
It’s on their EU store but not seeing it on China. I’ll find the link

I would pay for a lens upgrade as I'm in the same boat as you. When we getting goggles 2 v2? How long after goggles 1 did we get goggles v2?
Great details as always, Ian! I reviewed the Comfy Foam 2 (called v3 in Europe, I guess) and it was the best by far 🤙
Thanks for the review! With the new facemasks on Goggles 2, do you prefer Goggles 2 or Integra. I still haven't made up my mine which one to get.

Whats about fogging?Goggles2 with stock mask is almost unusable for me because of fogging. Am i the only one?
I switch it on in the bag before flying. Uses up some battery but warms up the lenses enough to avoid fogging. Still prefer the old v2s though.
or just place adhesive velcro a little less close to nose, should not need cuts
it looks like you are more happy with the optics with v1 just need something down the chicks to keep the nose free.... need to clean the lenses :-)
