In the early 2000's on my way to Niagra Falls/Wonderland in Canada I was driving and came across this park and saw Silver Comet in passing and knew I'd have to back track in a few day's and I did! It was great & a pleasant surprise to boot! I loved it and it glad it's still up and maybe running again? If so I'll most defiantly ride it some more!
Looks like a fun now considered classic (CCI, the age that gave us spinning off GCI and Gravity Group), definitely going to have to hit this park the next time I go up to Darien Lake as a mini-double trip that's for sure. Also one slap in the face for anyone who says to RMC this XD.
Looking past the rough ride, this coaster actually has some pretty damn good pacing for an old cci. The dip in the first turn around after the drop instead of the stalled out horseshoe turn most cci and ptcs have that bring the ride to a halt.
Nice bit of airtime on this?....thought I'd comment about the actual content of the vid instead of random off topic rubbish others dab their keyboard with!
Brendan Craven Definitely it has airtime. I had a blast on this underrated little coaster. Worth marathoning, and definitely worth a stop if you’re doing the Upstate New York parks and/or if you’re making your way north to Marineland and CW, as I was.
@@StamfordBridge Don't go to Marineland. They've had lawsuits against the cleanliness of the water the animals are in and how they treat their animals. Canada even recently made a law stating new dolphins and whales aren't allowed to be held in captivity anymore.
John D Fair enough - you’re right. But with the law you mentioned and with their own financial pressures, it sounds as if they’re being forced to reinvent themselves and move away from the captive sea mammal shows.

Sadly, I think Fantasy Island will soon be added to the list of defunct theme parks. I've heard a bunch of complaints and every time I drive by the place looks deserted.
It started off so promising.. then just did nothing... Man it was great at the start though.. if it maintained that, it would have been insane. This is another CCI casualty though, as coaster no longer operates.

It wouldnt be that soon, Apex bought it 2 years ago and have already added a coaster, so if they put some money in it, it will be a great theme park
