I HIGHLY recommend putting all your outfits that you’ve preplanned in big zip lock bags. It cuts down so much time in the morning getting ready if you have your outfit, each day’s underwear and socks all in a bag ready to go. No searching around for things that are loose, especially after a few days when your suitcase becomes less organised. I had each outfit in a bag with a label for what park I was wearing it in. I then used the ziplock bags to put my dirty clothes once worn. I also find it much easier these days to just buy a new toothbrush, deodorant, etc that I would normally just pack on the morning I leave. It’s less things I can forget to pack and when you get home, you don’t have to unpack things you need for the next day.
A friend went a couple of years ago and I was giving some advice on travelling with disabilities. One thing I’ve got hold of is this excellent sunbrella that has an attachment for buggies/wheelchairs. I discovered a black umbrella is a genius thing for very hot and Sunny places as you give yourself instant shade.
Agreed, I packed a UV umbrella last time and it was soo nice. It kept me a little cooler during parades when we were baking in the sun (though I did collapse it when traveling through more crowded sections).
I hope that your trip went well, and that your disability was not an issue, because I know of late that many amusement parks have cut down on amenities for disabled people. Wishing you all the best with your travels.
Lovely Gem! 💎 Congratulations on the cranberry tablets. I take one in the morning and one before bed. Haven’t had a UTI in over a decade. Drink lots as this will help a lot. Loving my keyring! Have a wonderful holiday xx ✈️ 🏰 ☀️💖
This is such a fun video🥰 I’m so excited for you and your family! We love Disney and are saving so we can take two weeks too! If you need medical attention the medical offices inside the park are excellent! Enjoy ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so happy for you and your birthday trip! You and DB are so adorable in your enthusiasm 😊. My sister is a big fan of The Mouse too. I'm not into it at all, but can appreciate how much joy others get from it. Please be very careful with the heat -- it's been worse than ever so far this summer everywhere in the US.
Ah thank you so much. I see it’s really hot at the moment. We will have breaks in the a/c. And probably breaks in the afternoon. If you have any tips, I’d really appreciate them ☺️
Wait, is that 11 days that you are spending in the parks? That sounds awesome! No wonder ya all have been slowly but surely enmassing disney clothing all year…! I remember the vlogs where you bought some of them!
For my disney world trip, i packed the following items. I packed 8 shirts, some granola bars in my carry on bag, sun screen, my iPhone for vlogging, my portable charger, and my white cane
Yay for the pin collection! Just started collecting pins myself, mostly around neurodiversity, my faves so far are a rainbow eternity symbol with “define normal” and a red chilli-pepper with “neuro spicy” 😀 tho my Amazon wish list is growing exponentially 😂
Even in the Marines, I don't think I ever packed that much. LOL, I hope ya'll have a great time. Just remember FL is very hot and humid this time of year. remember to stay Hydrated. Orlando to Miami is about a 3hr and 30-minute Drive in light traffic. if you are lucky. The power strips are a good idea you will only need one converter per stip
Good to see your lovely faces again. Boring man question, but I noticed a British, 220 V power bar. In the Americas, we use a different plug. Did you have to bring along an adapter, or does Disney accommodate?
Oooh, I have a question regarding packing as a disabled person: what do you do about supplies and equipment that people who aren't disabled don't need to think about? Specifically I'm thinking transfer boards, incontinence supplies, bed positioning stuff, etc. Someone in my MS support group said packing when you have MS is liking having to pack when you travel with a baby 😅. When I think about all the extra stuff involved (for me) it's really daunting and makes me wonder if it's worth it, KWIM?
There is so much to remember….ill be chatting a little bit about this in my next vid. But as a disabled person you can take two extra pieces of luggage, (which must be medical, or disability related) and they won’t be charged. So for me. My wheelchair is one piece. Then I can take an extra bag containing medical supplies, which won’t be charged. Hope that makes sense. ☺️
@Kelly, how much medical luggage you're allowed to bring depends on the country/ies you're flying to/from/within (and possibly the airline(s), if any flights are entirely outside of the U.S. - I'm not familiar with foreign-only travel rules for things like this) - e.g. for flights (not trips, but flights) into, out of, and within the U.S., there's no limit on how much medical luggage you can bring for free, so long as the bags that are being designated as "medical" contain only medical stuff and meet the weight limit for checked bags; though I know for at least some U.S. airlines, there is a limit of 1 wheelchair, or maybe it's you can bring any normal wheelchairs (power or manual) but they charge for sports/other specialty wheelchairs (I can't remember all the details on that, since I only ever travel with one - all I remember is they charge extra for some types of chairs/after a certain number).
@@Wheelsnoheelsthis is what we did when we flew earlier in the year. I had a bag for my cushion and neck pillow and put my foot plates in it when we removed them from my wheelchair at the aircraft door on the way out. On the way back my wheelchair was folded and fitted in the cubby hole in 1st class so it wasn’t a problem
Gem my wife has a holiday list and she has been counting down the days, it’s five weeks until we cross the sea to Florida, to see Mickey Mouse and the gang and we are going to do our first ever vlog and we are going to call it Rich&Sara travel 👨🏻🦽✈️🇺🇸❤️
Seems like your first Disney trip was not that many years before mine if your first was in 1996, 1997 I went for the first time summer of 2000 because I was Aamir seven when I first went, I was only born in 93 because I do live in America and on the east coast there’s much farther north
Does anyone know what it's like when entering the USA with medication and special tube feeding? Are there any problems with customs? Due to many allergies, I have special ones that I have to take with me. For 2 to 3 weeks that would be around 60kg. Does anyone have experience with this?
I’m chatting a little bit about this. (Very little bit) in my Next video. But you can take two extra items of luggage for free if it’s medical. So for me it’s my wheelchair, then I could take an extra bag for medication. And those extra bags won’t be charged. It’s best to speak to special assistance, and the airline before your trip. ☺️
I went to the USA only once. It was in 2011. I’m peg fed and you need a letter from your GP staying your medical condition and prescription of your feed and medications. notify the airline in advance. Different airlines have different rules. Basically as long as you tell everyone it will be fine.
@@HighTen_MelanieDid you know how long a medical letter is valid in the USA? Here in Germany I had to hear at the security check that it was only valid for 14 days and that I would then need a new one from my doctor.
@@56ooer6 Also, for flights (not trips, but flights themselves) into, out of, and within the U.S., by federal law (which trumps any airline policies, regardless of airline) you can bring as many medical bags as you need to as long as everything in them is "medical". Not sure whether additional fees apply if the medical bag exceeds the normal checked bag weight limit (50lbs) - that weight limit might only apply for flights originating in the U.S. If you're wondering about whether or not you'll need a new doctor's note in order to take formula through security on the way home, I asked my best friend, a TSA (U.S. airport security) officer of 7 years, and she said no. I don't know about customs.
With all the new changes, did your application for DAS get accepted? It's one thing putting me and wifey off from going again. As you don't know if you'll get accepted till a month before and DIS says, not being accepted is not grounds to get a full refund for your holiday.
Have we missed anything? What are your disney essentials when packing?
I love how thorough Daisy's packing list was. 😊
