Fun fact:
When C418 created minecraft's soundtrack, he had to base it surrounding the player gameplay, space detection and the limitations of the sound engine. And because of it, he ended up making some of the most memorable ost from videogames. The music in minecraft works through a randomizing algorithm, the day is based on 12000 ticks and randomly in one of those ticks, the function of reproducing music will get triggered. Because of that, they couldn't make an epic soundtrack like dovaking dovaking from skyrim, it would sound strange if it sounds randomly. That's why, considering that minecraft is a pretty slow game too, they decided to base the soundtrack on ambient music, so that maybe you would encounter a certain moment while playing, where you do something memorable and the background music starts to sound, making it an epic memory.

All my nephew wanted was for me to play this with him. 5 years of putting him off because working full time and being in a master program (school) on the weekends, I simply always had an excuse not to play. One day he wanted to show me something. He built a statue of me in his world that took him 2 days. It didn’t resemble me in the slightest, but that was the kindest thing anyone had ever done for me. He and I currently play today. I’m 28 and he’s 11. We have many worlds and I don’t take one moment for granted. This game is special and always will be.

No matter who you are, where you come from, whether you believe in a god or not, what political opinions you have, where you are in life or what you do for a living, everyone can come together to play a good game like Minecraft.
I wish that was true at least. But people are just too cruel. I wish we could have a place where people could come together to find common ground as long as they're not breaking the law. Where Brexit supporters and remainers can sit down and find their similarities while playing a relaxing game, and allow each other to continue down the path they chose. Where Christians and atheists can play in a word both created and formed by science. Where someone with bad experiences with a certain race can talk with people of the race they fear and realise they're not all so bad and have no fear of being kicked out for learning that skin doesn't determine who you are, and likewise the person of the race who the first person fears can realise that not all racists are calling to kill everyone but their own race or are people who fear a race due to the colour of their skin, and can instead be someone who has had a rough life and is broken, and became a racist due to their own personal experiences in life, and only need to meet the one right person to have their view of that race changed forever.

This game made me happier than when I was with my family, gave me memories better than the ones with my family, made me friends better than the ones my family introduced me to.
Now that I have a daughter who loves games I'll make sure that she lives a better life than what I had to go through, with the help a minecraft family world.
recently I opened up my xbox 360 again
found it out in my garage collecting dust. The only game I had left on it was Minecraft Xbox 360 edition.
Got nostalgic when I saw the 360 start up screen and got chills when I saw the xbox page so empty looking.
My friends list still worked but I couldn't message anybody obviously. And all they said was last online 6 years ago.
Some even said 8 years.
Honestly, It made me cry. I remember no lifeing the shit out of that damn console. Let alone minecraft on it.
If you have your old consoles somewhere, give them a boot up and play something on it.
Trust me, it's one hell of a trip.

I still play on my 360 from time to time...sad thing is work and commitments take over. I still play PC a ton but 360 is where the nostalgia hits hard.
I’m finally getting a PS4 today, after having my PS3 since I was 6.
Store your old consoles somewhere safe, you’ll end up forgetting about it. But booting up that console in many years time, it’s one hell of a nostalgic trip.
I never actually owned Minecraft, I have the demo on my PS3, i never got new systems, never had the time to game really, but I still use my PS3 mostly for Blu-ray or streaming (Netflix) or TH-cam, only thing sucks is that PS3 controller is dieing, battery life is fading where it doesn't want to stay full charged lol gotta hunt for extras

i would say that your brain thinks you've booted up minecraft, but it's also remembering the other times you've booted up minecraft, and then it remembers everything you've done. brains are weird
Dude the cinematography and locations are next level. This is fantastic. Love the little effects you added in as well!
Minecraft is so unique. There has never been a game quite like it. In terms of gameplay, mood, sound, everything. the amount of creativity this game allows is huge, with mods just adding to it. the community is amazing, and the nostalgia. oh, the nostalgia. I, and so many of my generation have so much nostalgia for this game. we grew up playing it, made friends on it, built literal cities in it, and watched it grow.
Minecraft is such a simple concept, yet it has near infinite depth to what you can do with it. and being as old as it is, it has a lot of history behind it. so many iconic youtubers rose to fame because of this game, so many mysteries, like herobrine, and so many servers, from 2b2t to Hypixel.
this game will be for our generation what the Mario franchise is to our parent's generation. Minecraft is a timeless masterpeice. the fact that it's the number one bestselling game in the world ten years after it's release proves this.
It's amazing how much a simple block game that started in a guy's basement can affect and change so many people's lives.

Óscar Mateo Begué yeah especially if that woman has radically different beliefs about religion and mocks you because of that. I’m a Christian and she’s an Athiest. She used to mock and ridicule me for believing in God. Not cool. Also according to my Dad, (I trust him absolutely, he’s always had my back) Other family members had noticed that my mom would treat my brother and me differently. I’m just surprised it took me so long to notice but I started calling her out on it, she’d deny it of course. I dunno if she just blinded herself to it, or she knew it was true and was lying.

But the thing is that she is just evil. A bad person by definition, look up toxic people habits and she'll be there. And my little brother is learning to be just as bad as her, absorbing everything she does like a sponge. Im my country we have a quote that says "Cria cuervos y te sacaran los ojos" which translates to "Raise crows and they will pop out you eyes". I know Im getting the fuck out of this house as soon as I possibly can, but Im afraid for my dad, who to this day I still can believe how THE FUCK did he chose that woman to be the replacement of my mother, when he is the exact opposite of my step-mother (only a bit rancorous). My first time playing I remember of not even knowing which were the commands to walk. It was on a jungle, and a whole day passed and I was still there, but had already gotten wood and digged straight down to find stone without even moving a block further. I was such a noob XD
But... it really was incredible!
I remember my very first Minecraft survival on Pocket Edition. I'd made a dirt house which was easily dug out by zombies on later nights.
And the first time I saw a skeleton in the cave? It jumpscared me so bad that I straight up bolted to my dirt house!

My first time I spawned at a desert village and stayed there for a while but I didn't know what mobs were and I literally went up to an enderman and stared at its eyes I then began running and ran into a creeper almost died then got shot by a skeleton
Minecraft, the game which raised us, the game we share memories with, I still remember some of my worlds I did in my small pocket-sized iPod 2, worlds like lots of boats in the ocean, houses made of diamonds, trying to summon herobrine, blocks like the nether reactor, the game’s songs always bring me nostalgia. It’s beautiful how a game which is about placing blocks raised us all.

April 9th, 2010 - I get an old laptop from my father and log onto Minecraft for the first time ever. I spawn in the treetops of a jungle biome. I look around and decide to try and build a treehouse using brick placing my first block of many. After some time, I stop playing because of school work and lack of interest.
August of 2019 - My father dies of cancer. He was in the hospital for months, I can't recall how long because I'm a shit son who didn't even see him in his dying moments.
December 6th, 2019 - My birthday. I get a couple of larger gifts including a new acoustic guitar and clean out stuff under my bed. I find my father's old laptop. I clean it off and boot it up, see Minecraft. Update it and log into my old account which was written on a sticky note taped to the laptop. A wave of nostalgia hits me as memories of my childhood come flooding back, however, the one that stuck with me was when my father had tried to learn how to play Minecraft so he could relate to me more.
I miss him, why can't life be as simple as it was back then?
