Excellent innovation! I might advise wearing protective masks for workers so that one great solution does not create long-term health problems. I wish you good luck and I hope the government can assist you

Mind blowing! Killing two birds with one stone. So extremely proud of these young people. I hope the government or somebody with the reach and resources can adopt and help them scale up. This is sorely needed in Nigeria.

I dont live in Africa so dont know what is the life style like there or how people live. But I have burned plastic before and it gives off a black and thick smoke, that smoke dont smile good so I know it dont go well with the body, how long will these guy work before this smoke starts effecting them and doing damage to they respiratory system, and two that smoke can not be good when going into the air not good for the environment it can cause something you call black rain. It's a good idea to see young guys really come together and be innovative but still looking out for they health and the health of others.

Thanks for your comments. As a matter of fact, I work with the group mentioned in the video. We don't actually burn the plastic. We melt it in the presence of a limited amount of oxygen.

While I appreciate your efforts. I come with an important message. The way you are melting the plastic is going to damage your health..I promise. You should never let plastic smoke be in your vicinity...really you shouldn't melt it. However if you do, it should be with steam heat and in an enclosed environment with adequate ventilation. Otherwise , you will definitely gain lung cancer or something similar. It's definitely not worth it.
Grind it down and use it as the aggregate.

Making the melted plastic into roofing tiles will yield more money. To reduce environmental health hazard U can add used engine oil or used cooking oil to melt the plastic. Also add cement or clay dust on a ratio of 3:1 3 lbs plastic to 1lb cement. Make a roofing tile mold.

I love the idea because the process is not that hard to do to recycle the plastic to create a cheaper brick yet durable but I only have two concerns:
    1. Since, the plastic is being burned you think it is not polluting the air and will affect global warming?
    2. Is it safe and healthy for the one who is assigned to burn them which inhales the smell of the burnt plastic.
If those two concerns are both handled properly and risk-free, overall this project is totally effective and helpful to our mother earth.
Hope you can answer my question. Thanks.

Over cooking Plastics will kill you very slowly. A simple Thermostat and a Oven will do, before reusing the plastic in a press or Mold. Look up or work out the melting points of each type of plastic you plan to re-use. Making things from all types of 8x4 plastic sheets into everyday items it was my job. Why not make plastic pipes for fresh water movement. Window Frames and Doors. Good luck with your projects from England,Wales
