New concepts, voiced characters and detailed environments are looking pretty good Edit as of mod release: Definitely lived up to the presentation showcased in this trailer. If you haven't gone and played it yet, go do that! Excellent production-quality work by a small team.
Portal 2 is tough, because most of the good mods were for other Source games. The only ones I can think of are Portal Stories: Mel (of course) and Aperture Tag (even though it's a paid mod, which is bizarre). When I said this, I was more so referring to the general status of Source modding, like Factum Solus and Rexaura for Portal 1, or Half-Life 2's MINERVA and The Citizen. Of course, not to say all other Portal 2 mods are bad. It's ironic... the game's uniform world design makes it one of the easiest games to make maps for, but difficult to make a story-enriched modification. There's also issues with flows, good puzzle-design and the like that can bog down an experience pretty bad.@@somesortofgeek
I don't think the high overlords of steam would allow someone to charge for a mod lol lets be honest games like valve stuff, bethesda titles, and minecraft modders likely do more work than actual devs at real studios.

I know it sounds weird, but the Aperture Science Enrichment Center mesmerizes me as a location. I am trying so hard to picture the whole thing in my head and with fan maps, but it is really tough to make sense of. Such an epic installation.

The only two Portal Mods I am excited for is *Portal Reloaded* and now *Portal Revolution* It literally came out of nowhere, and this looks like a sequel or continuation of the original game, honestly impressive work! Its crazy how much passion you have for this project. Good luck and will be waiting for a successful release!!
I love the subtle effects on the first core's voice. The voice-over has great inflections. Fantastic timing and tone. Will Neal did a great job so far. The core so far seems like it would fit in an official release, unlike some previous mods (anything done by Harry fricken rocks though). This mod also looks stunning. Excellent work to the entire team. Super pumped to play it in January.

Oh heck yes. The original Portal remains one of my favorite gaming experiences to this day. Although, it’ll be impossible to recapture the magic of stumbling on it late one night with absolutely no idea what the game was about or what I was getting into…
I found out about this project probably about 2 years ago when I found the steam page. Added it to my wishlist and been waiting for an update since then. I watched the trailer, and got goosebumps. I AM HYPED I CANT WAIT
Suggestion: I think the cores might sound a little more natural with a very subtle robotic/digital filter over their voices! I think their voices are good but, something about them feels weirdly more "human" than Wheatley and ESPECIALLY other cores did, and it sticks out. Wheatley might be the only core in the series to not actually have a digital sounding voice because, for some reason, he sounds fine without it.

Looks like you have things all covered, but I might as well ask: are you still casting voice actors? I'd love to audition if so. I just finished the game, since my friend kept pushing me to play it, and hell now i'm so glad he did. I can't recommend this game enough! The test chambers were so much fun, so damn clever. The visuals made me stop and just admire, the music was great especially "Komplementar", i love that one so much. The new characters are so lovable. The story is great. I had so much fun while playing. Please if you still haven't play it and you're a Portal fan, play it as soon as possible, you won't be disappointed! Thanks for all the people who worked on this project, you're all amazing and deserve all the cakes in the world! 🎂
Ive been seeing bits of progress of this mod from some screenshots over years of it being worked on(and stuff like models left in Portal 2 Community Edition(P2CE) that is meant for revolution), I'm loving how its looking currently! I'm pretty sure its gonna have to release if its using P2CE since P2CE would also have to release I think, I'm not sure how that works exactly though.
Thanks so much! To clarify, this is a standalone mod. We use the Strata Source engine, which P2CE also uses, but our branch is entirely separate. I have regularly kept up to date with their features but our engine doesn't include all of P2CE's features. You will not need to have P2CE installed to play this mod. Other P2CE mods might have this requirement, but this mod is sort of a special case.

some people say they dont like the voices but we really love them. we chose to go with interesting voices that build a lot of character, instead of going for a plain and boring voice that sounds like your average 20 year old college student (aka us lol) so happy you enjoy it!

It’s probably because British people aren’t real anyway so we don’t need the extra effects to add to the immersion
