Team Introductions of the Metropolitan Division | NHL 101

If you are a new hockey fan, knowing the teams playing is an important piece of the puzzle. So in this episode of NHL 101 we will be introducing 8 of the leagues 32 teams, specifically the Metropolitan Division. To be clear this is the Metropolitan division as it will be starting in the 2021-22 season. So if you are watching this during the 2021 shortened season, things will look a little different as far as how the divisions are set up. The Washington DC Capitals, Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Pittsburg Penguins, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. You will get a quick intro to each!

I wish I could've said more about CBJ, for the sake of time I have to keep things short. I did say they weren't the most interesting, but I really like the Blue Jackets, one of my top 10 favorite teams... mostly because of cannon and cannon jerseys.

I never understood why anyone would be a Rangers fan. Both the Islanders and Devils are much better franchises. The Rangers seem to attract people who know less about the game too.

It’s regional. Most Ranger fans live in the city itself while Islander fans tend to live on Long Island and Devils fans tend to live in Jersey.
