It's great to hear about wonderful girlfriend time! Beside you Tash, Summer Lee is my favorite podcaster. Her book is amazing! Through her, I learned to knit colorwork on tiny circs and I can zip along without having to worry about ladders or puckering tension issues you get with magic loop or DPNs. One other thing I learned is how to knit colorwork inside out, so the floats are on the outside of my work. It gives that little extra stretch. Thanks for keeping us engaged! PS...I'm on week four with my new knee and am almost ready to have #2 done. I can't imagine having both done at the same time. Healing prayers for your husband.
Great podcast, I just love seeing you lovely ladies together. Love the blue vest you are wearing Becs and the black and white jumper you are knitting Tash is looking stunning and can’t wait to see it finished ❤❤
What a beautiful yarn store and I am pleased to hear that they stock some New Zealand yarns. A trick for colourwork socks is to knit them inside out so the floats go around the outside and are therefore longer. Perhaps Bec could try that and see if it works.
The fun podcast with Bec and your finished items and Wips. I have finally finished my Blue Cabled Hat it looks great. Now I am Looking for a free baby sweater in a top down raglan knit. Your friendship with Bec is great and that you can get togther once on a while. I am sleepy and off to be I go. Take care ❤
It is always so great to see you and Bec together sharing your projects. Looks like you had a wonderful time shopping and enjoying some time together. ❤
Morning Ladies. What a treat to see youse together again bouncing off each other. Our very own Aussie version of "Those Twins Who Knit", eh? ;) Thanks for an enjoyable episode. You always provide food for thought and inspiration. Bec your Storm looks glorious and good to know that the fit can work for you, with a few tweaks, in relation to Tash's sized version. Glad you were able to spend some quality time together again. Enjoy your day and weekend. xx
Living in the country now (used to live ten mins from Skeinsisters) I now buy mostly online and The Little Yarn Store is one of my two go- to shops, they have so many brands I love. I used Isager Highland as my MC for my TessellatedCardigan as I loved the colour (‘Sky’)and I really liked this yarn, you could definitely use it on its own and it would be a light sweater great for quite a few months of Sydney weather whereas adding mohair will restrict your usage . I’d go for it on its own.
I am very excited to be knitting Heimathafen in Purl Soho Linen Quill, navy and very pale lavender. Thank you for helping me to know what to do with that yarn. I have made a lot of Isabell Kraemer’s patterns. Blessings
I love your videos Tash, you are such an inspiration and it was lovely to see you with your friend who loves knitting too. Unfortunately my friends are not interested in knitting or the joy yarn can bring, my knitting buddy of 40 years was my mother in law, we always knit together and drooled over yarn but since she passed away I’ve had nobody.
I am so sorry to hear that you have noone in person to share your knits with anymore. I am really glad you are here. I hope that you can share you knits with us here. We understand! x
Happy New Year Tash and Bec! 🎊 🎉Thanks so much for sharing your lovely visit with us! All the best for the year ahead. I am going to finish the Margaret sweater by Lene Homes Samso, - leknit tonight. I too am going to stash down, love the yarn I knit it in, so light and cozy, and fluffy, and all from stash😊
Thank you Tash and Bec! I love these episodes with the two of you. I love how your Storm Sweater is coming along Bec. Tash, I look forward to your No Frills/Monday Sweater comparison as I’m planning on knitting the No Frills next. I will also definitely try Cascade Pima this summer. I am in snowy Canada but not envious of the heat you’re experiencing. 😊
Great pod per usual. I just can't believe there is such a great yarn store in Brisbane with its warm climate. I find it amazing. It sounds pretty wonderful. I'm wondering if the abundance of yarn shops in Australia is a newish thing. I spent a month there about 7 years ago and never encountered 1. I stayed mostly in Adeaide. Mmm I wasn't a knitter then so maybe didn't notice.
Both yarn stores i went to in Brisbane have a wonderful selection. I agree - interesting given the warm weather. I think there is definitely growth there. :)
Love your Storm sweater Bec! Tash your Heimsthafen looks so sharp I dont know every time I see what you are making i want to make it too😂 great eye for colpur combos and yarn choices
Always a treat to see Bec! You two have such a lovely friendship, and I love seeing what you each knit and the yarns you prefer. Thanks for the tip about the Skein Studio podcast. I’m always looking for new things to watch while I knit, and wait for your next episode to drop. 😃
Enjoyed the fun episode - nothing better than sharing knitting passion with a friend. One idea for the socks would be to work them inside out. I’m working on the egg yolk socks and it really helps with the floats. Hard to explain but you can google it 😉
Great podcast. I love to watch your podcast. Nice to also meet your girlfriend in your podcast. Your pronunciation of "Snefnug" was perfect. I'm watching from Denmark ❤🇩🇰
Regular viewer and love the podcast. I used the Woolfolk Luft (in stash) for a Twisted Affair and found the yarn hard on the hands, particularly when cabling. The yarn has no stretch or springiness. Found myself resorting to laceweight linen project for a bit of light relief.
Lovely! Bec, I find it odd that they recommend not catching the long float on the socks. I find the fabric is definitely more stretchy if you do catch floats, as you end up with a longer path for that yarn between stitches (did that make sense?) Enjoy the tennis Tash!
Thank you so much Joanne. I was thinking the same thing regarding not catching the floats. I'll have to ask Bec if there is any more info on this. I thought catching the floats would use a bit more yarn which would make it more stretchy, not less...
Thank you so much. That is a good question. I think i like the Oslo Hat the best. I like the three layer brim and all the stockinette. And then the Classic Ribbed Hat by Purl Soho is my favorite 1x1 rib. Two by Two by Anne Gagnon is my favorite 2x2 rib. :)
I love the storm sweater with the flecks of color. I have Sandnes garn poppy and wonder if I could use it for the storm sweater? Also have are you blocking? Full wet blocking with wool wash or steam?
I think the Poppy is a great choice. I fully wet blocked my Storm sweater. I am not sure what Bec did. I dont think she has a steamer so probably wet blocked.
Judy's Magic Cast On is not quite as stretchy and elastic as other tubular cast on methods. So with other methods you might go down a needle size or two. With JMCO, you might go up a size.
If you say “chapeau”, Natasha (using my stern, ‘look at moy” typing ) .. and I only say your full name when I am serious, remember? …we shall remain firm knitting “friends” forever…try chapeau..see? ..very continental and chic off the tongue, n’est-ce pas? Go well, dear heart.xx😉
Lovely to see the two of you enjoying each other's company and your shared love of knitting! It was a real treat of an episode🧡
Thank you so much Karen. We love doing it together so I am glad it is fun for others as well. x
It is always a treat when you two record together sharing about your knitting! What is better than friends who can knit together❤❤
Thank you so much Susie. We have a lot of fun doing it. xx

Thank you so much Susan. That is a great tip. I am inspired to try making a pair of colorwork socks and i will definitely use this method. :)
Thank you for such a lovely episode🥰 so nice to follow along with your knitting plans and FO’s
Thank you so much Hanne. :)
Happy belated birthday, Bec 🎉 and safe travels!
Thank you so much. :)

That's a great idea. I had forgotten about that method for helping with the floats. Thank you for the reminder. :)
Enjoy the Happy Slam!!! Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi!!! 🎾
Thank you so much Rebecca. It was a great weekend. :)
Great podcast. I love to watch your podcast. Nice to also meet your girlfriend in your podcast. Your pronunciation of "Snefnug" was perfect. I'm watching from Denmark ❤🇩🇰
Thank you so much Heidi. I am so pleased to hear I got the pronunciation right. x
Wonderful, Taz and Bec - Melbourne having the best weather!
Thank you so much. The weather was lovely but very hot in the direct sun!
Such a lovely podcast Tash and Beck.
It's always nice to see your plans. I will check out the Skein Studio Podcast
Thank you so much Karen. :)
So great seeing Bec! Great episode 👏
Thank you so much :)
That was lovely. I think you two need to make this a quarterly thing 🤭😂 enjoy the tennis
Thank you so much Karen. I would love that if Bec's schedule allows. :)
Thanks ladies for an informative podcast.👩🌾🐑🐮
Thank you so much. :)

That is so interesting to hear. Thank you for sharing that. I havent got to the cable rows yet but I think i know what you mean. It is a funny yarn...
Great episode with you two friends!! So fun and exciting!!
Thank you so much Evie. :)
I really like those crochet hooks, they are easy on the hands. Fun show.
Thank you so much Amy. :)

Lovely video. Two BFFs and great knitters. I must ask you both, what is your favourite hat/beanie/toque pattern of all time? Thank you!

May I ask why you did the start of the hat in the bigger size needles please Tash?
Judy's Magic Cast On is not quite as stretchy and elastic as other tubular cast on methods. So with other methods you might go down a needle size or two. With JMCO, you might go up a size.
@ ok that’s great to know thank you so much
Would you like to show your knitting techniques that you talked about?? please 🙏🏻
Here is a video of how i knit

I'll have to get footage of Bec knitting. :)
🌈🧶❤️
P.S Tash your goal for next week is NOT to use the word "hat" in any given sentence .Good luck with that. ;) x
Ha! How can i do that when i am always knitting on a H-A-T? ;) x
