I’m thinking that the small trees just in front of your loft is causing your birds to first land in a higher location especially considering the direction the birds circle they don’t have a full view of the landing board when approaching. I agree with others that any change will take some time for them to adjust.
This is a brilliant idea. We had the same and the birds never landed on the roof of the loft. 1. The trap board must be long enough to the front to inspire land confidence. 2. Coming from the training toss can be easier to land and in a race different as they can come from any direction and sometimes high 3. From my experience they need that extra length in the front 4. You can make it as an attachment and have a support to hold it up during racing season and then remove it after if you choose ... I said a vid on van lint's way he did it. Ours was one long trap board like yours however the depth was longer coming more forward. I can't remember if it was 1meter or so ... It was a while back now ...
Yes, I think it is working. I thought it was a little late, but if you check today's video, you will see that they landed better. It is a good idea to put like a plywood that sticks out on race/training 👍
My 2 cents on this: I think your original set up is fine and your birds trap already very fast based on what I've seen in your videos. Also when birds arrive in large group, it's hard for them to all land on the landing board due to the momentum. I'd prefer them to land on the loft roof and trap in right after instead of landing on the house roof and going down. However, when they arrive individually or in small group(a few birds) like in a race, they may be able to land directly on the landing board with or without railing you have there.
Yes, My birds trap really fast without it. I was just trying them to land on the landing board to gain few seconds. I have lost races in my club for seconds. When you start racing you will see how easy is to loose races for seconds. I think if i train them to land in the landing board when they come from the race in small groups or individually they can do it in one shot. I will probably try it in the first races and see the results. Thanks for your advice
Forgot to let you know to remove the poles with the string just add picket fence on both sides of the loft then loop the string around the fence . String should be 1 foot off the roof
Yes, the problem that they are landing on the roof of the house now and then coming down to the landing board. I tried this morning again, and it works better. Not sure if I will save time
@@quinteroloft9530 your bird’s trap fast any way but landing on the house roof is not going to save any time but they will get use to it after some time I hope 🤞. I need to see how you get your birds in the crates I’m getting older I can catch my birds like I use to I need to see a easy way to do that thanks .
@Stratos loft I just catch them. I have not used the little door on the floor anymore because they are not used to it. I will train my young birds to use it to get them faster.
The picket white fence you have in front should stay, but add picket fencing on both sides. Tie string on each picket from side to side. At least 1 foot off the roof Don't try this with young birds till they learn the loft
Suerte
I definitely wouldn’t do that. They are going to get injured. Use the roof as a big landing board. I think they will get hurt. Your original setup was fine I thought they trapped fast enough. I wouldn’t change the old setup.
Gracias
Sometimes changes spoil the enjoyment. Sometimes it's best to stick to how you always did it🤝
Very true! Just like how the birds land on the landing board in other lofts
@quinteroloft9530 BUT ONLY YOU KNOW WHATS BEST FOR YOUR LOFT SIR.👍💪💪
Agree. Like to share and think about the viewers' points of view. Is a good way to learn from everybody

Yes, there are a lot of trees and the house that make the landing more difficult. I think they will adapt soon. Thanks

Sounds good
They need to get use to it , it will work just give it some time .

@@quinteroloft9530 ok thanks I just need to find easier way to catch them or push them in to something so is more convenient.

Vamos a ver. Gracias

Yes, I think I am going back yo my roof as a landing board. Thanks
Gracias

@@quinteroloft9530 si has lo verás q funciona y no falla

Yes, I thought about it. I will probably remove it. Thanks
Like 1, selamat sore Bosquu 🙏, 👌👍
Thanks
Papa u did it wrong the other 2 fences should run across the side of the roof then run the tie the strings on fence across the roof
I don't get well what you say. Do you mean running the strings that they cover the roof from front to back?
Saludos
Si, hay mucho q usan los droppers. Nunca las he usado.
The old birds are used to landing on the roof it’s going to take awhile for them to overcome their old habits. Should work with the new youngsters.
Yes, I will work more with the younsgters. Thanks
