These consoles have been circulating outside of USAF for a few years now, there's even a few older videos you can find of people unboxing their USAF consoles they purchased! That styrofoam packing was protective, but my packages came in about the same messy shape.

The cell has always been ahead of its time it forced programmers to thinks almost backwards when programming (why it was hard to program) but as a processed its a monster if they ever found a way to simplify the programming for it and update it to this generation it would be the most advanced cpu out there

And I used to let my PS3 run overnight to participate in the Folding@home project. Felt good. That was a stout 60GB fat PS3 that ran well for many years and during the winters it was even used as a mini space heater.
Blag Cog could be more true. It’s so bland and doesn’t have anything that really stands out. PS3 is defiantly more nostalgic and has more of an impact. Yeah the technology may be better but as far as the experience goes and the feel you get from it, just not the same.
PSOne had the sparkles, PS2 had the "wooot" sound to tell you that you're not going I get RSOD, PSP had the guitar riff, Phat PS3 had the clinging sound. Newer PS3 firmware + PS4 only had silence with the PS4 having a splash screen. Yeah. I agree

the reason the air force had to ditch the whole bunch was because of the update that Sony released which removed Linux compatibility off the consoles so it was useless to them after that
The one thing I miss is the 'Playstation 3' appearing before you start a game. I wish they never removed that, though I think I read somewhere it was due to security concerns. Such a shame.
I also miss older firmware.. I miss it so much, that I have CFW and I did add game boot screen and changed startup sound and screen. Man, that was the best PS3.. ekhem, Playstation 3 ever! :)
My buddy got a PS3 the week they were released. We were so blown away. We played "Resistance - Fall of Man" as well and we beat the game on "Superhuman" setting! We thought that was such an amazing feat at the time. PS3 forever!

I mean, it just looks like a standard 40GB/80GB PS3 console. It's not even the 60GB model which looks stylish (but why would they care about that). The neat thing with that console is the extremely old fw although you can do that now via hacking. Good video.
I think it is such a waste that the clustering capabilities weren't used for games. "Want to play Uncharted 2 in 60 fps? Cluster up 3 PS3's with an adapter sold separately for whole new experience!" or something like that.
