- Carew Castle is one of the prominent ruined stone castles in a picturesque location next to the mill pond that powers the tide mill. The castle is ruined now but was once a mighty stronghold and a grand Elizabethan mansion. The ruins of Carew Castle stand in majestic splendour on the low banks of the River Carew, near Pembroke. Gerald of Windsor erected a Norman motte and bailey castle here about 1100, building on a still earlier Iron Age fort. It is perhaps odd that the fort was built here in a low-lying position beside the river, rather than on a natural defensive hilltop as was more common.

That's a really impressive castle ruin and the walls are pretty well preserved. Two amazing long shots again, one starting at 0:26, the second at 1:45. I love it, Meraz. Amazing piloting skills. Nice video production.🤘👌

Went there to fly drone they said no it’s government controlled when I asked ! 😂
Sorry that is unfortunate. Spoke to a member of staff who I asked politely and shown my A2oCfc license. I was told I can do videos if I don't fly over people or crowd. Things could be changed now!
