What an inspiration! Thank you for sharing this video. I have just bought my first Anne Sloan paints and brushes and ready to paint my first furniture but you gave me a vision of how amazing results one can achieve. Thank you!!

I just want to say, I've watched this video no less than a half dozen times in the last year and am stunned at the result each and every time. I honestly think this may be my favorite transformation that I've ever watched. The age is so authentic and tells a beautiful story for me that this piece had an amazing and well loved life in a little villa somewhere in Tuscany where I see a little wall well and cracked beams, fresh flowers and bare feet. I know you do mostly decoupage videos now but I just have to say I'd love to see more of these types of pieces from you as I just feel you have an eye for unique creative finishes. In short, I love!!!!!

I live in Italy, and you made this cupboard look like something I'd find hidden away in a crumbling old house in the North of Italy. I didn't realize you were the Michelle of Mint by Michelle until the end. I couldn't figure out why Mint by Michelle was written as an overlay to the final picture of the wardrobe. I love your decoupage paper. It's can't find it in Italy though. I live in Tuscany where the furniture is very dark wood, and not painted. Very clever to make a stencil from WoodUbend. What are A1 transfers and who makes them? I have an old, dark Italian bedroom set and what you've done here is similar to my plan for it, although I hadn't envisioned it so dark. You may have convinced me though. I really like what you did with this piece.
Congratulations of making such a success of your business. I can't wait to see your other furniture transformations.

This is the third time I've watched this and it won't be the last. I'm curious: Why did you want so much texture? I'm thinking this might have been painted by a woman in Northern Italy during a cold winter, maybe in the 19th Century. She wouldn't have been a professional artist, but a talented amateur. She would have used whatever paints she had around, and probably not the best brushes so you'd see some pretty deep brush marks.
Those are just my impressions as to why you wanted that thick texture, but I'd love to know your reasons because you clearly had a specific vision in mind.
Each time I watch this I fall more in love with what you've done with this cupboard. As I go on watching it over and over I'll no doubt become obsessed. I love your bouquets done with your transfers. If you're ever looking for an Italian stockist, try My Shabby Corner. They don't sell Annie Sloan paint, but they do sell lots of IOD transfers, stamps etc. If I can figure out how to send them this video (I am hopeless with tech) I'll beg them to sell your products. They are my go to source for furniture painting. There are two more stockists here that do sell Annie Sloan paint who could also be prospects if you're interested.

Youre the best, Elena. It makes me do happy that you have such appreciation for this. I wanted all of the texture because I know that, historically speaking, pieces like this, genuine antique pieces, but that were not particularly high end and would likely live in a villa rather than a castle, would, over time, be painted over many times. Typically, the paint would not be stripped first. So, what you'd find ultimately is paramount to a tree trunk or mountain- thr layers indicative of times and years gone by 🙂

@@MINTbyMichelle Of course! I hadn't thought of the repainting part. The cupboard could easily be found in a farmhouse as well. Growing up with an Italian father and grandfather who could literally do anything I learned that there's something artistic in Italian DNA.
I'm not saying every Italian is an artist, but having lived here for 20 years I've seen a lot of evidence that it's pretty common. They don't think of themselves as artists, and if you were tell them they were they would laugh at you.
