- For his first solo show in Australia in June of 2006 at the famed Sydney venue, Hughes brought his unique brand of Rock-Funk to a new audience. Indeed, this is one of Britain1s greatest Rock singers in acoustic mode, intimate and live, and his soulful, distinctive voice is in top-notch condition throughout. The songs range across his career, taking in material from his solo albums like 1977's Play Me Out to 2005's Soul Mover and his newest release Music For The Divine. On top of that, Hughes returns to his legendary Deep Purple days for 'This Time Around', 'You Keep On Moving', an astonishing rendition of 'Mistreated' and a duet with celebrated Aussie Rock front man Jimmy Barnes on 'Getting Tighter'.

I just can’t believe how great Glenn’s voice and his control is. The middle of this song sounds like a Donny Hathaway song, and this is a heavy rock guy? He is just an awesome singer.

What a voice - check out the recent (June 15) duo of this song with David Coverdale -what could have been had this band stayed together - I guess Germans and pixie music would have missed out and been the poorer for not having one of the best rock guitarists of all time playing puss in boots
