First impression is these will be our only shot at owning eBay dunks, the concept on this release is dope, the execution is decent (I have questions on whether the clear parts will yellow and I feel like using fake duct tape would have been a better concept). Hopefully we have a realistic shot at getting them. I feel like anybody that's an OG as far as collecting dunk sbs has to be interested in these
They broke the mold of the original as far as I know or at least that's what cutting them up was supposed to represent...I doubt they will put any OG pairs up for auction but if they put these up for auction most of us won't have a realistic shot. I hope there's a more general release.
You are misinformed. It was thought that originally only two were manufactured; one was auctioned on eBay 30 grand, and the other was publicly cut into pieces to give the public, the impression that this was the rarest Nike SB dunk now that there was only one in the world. Fast forward to a bout a decade later, and of course Nike had hidden one away in the vault. They presented it to Sandy Bodecker as a retirement present. It was rumored that Sandy Bodecker was the purchaser of the eBay auction given that the winner was located in Eugene Oregon where Nikes headquarters are located.
