Hi Alicia, yo can use a sewing needle until you can get hold of a tapestry needle or what you might be called a ‘knitter’s sewing needle’. The blunt tip prevents tearing of the fibres that make up the yarn, but it’s not a major problem, so use what you have for now. Happy knitting 🧶
