Quick release to thru axle

This is my way of converting (putting)my quick release tire to thru axle fork, but I don’t recommend this thus it’s only an experiment. If you enjoy this video please consider subscribe to my channel it will be a big help for boosting my channel. Thanks guys!

The through axle is usually 15mm. The small thread at the end of the wheel axle sticks out about 1/4 inch if you have a steel fork. So the axle is supported by the dropout. Just enough to allow the skewer to clamp.If you had a small piece of tube that could be threaded to 9mm These could screw on to the ends of the axle and then clamp these in the fork using the skewer as well should be better. Just a piece of tubing over the treads and extending into the fork clamp is not as good. But obviously works.The 9mm axle could spin in the tubing in a worst case scenario if not threaded on.
That looks like broken collar bones waiting to happen.

More of a bodge than a conversion, might be ok on the road but no way would i ride trails and/or jumps.

@@Bakey180s Baller on a budget is why. Too lazy to do a 5 min google search to find the right endcap for the hub and too cheap to purchase a $25 TA end cap set apparently.
@@WildlandExplorer , hi. Can one convert the hub from quick Release to thru axle? I've been searching about it, but have just found end caps for the other way around: thru axle to quick release. Especially because the diameter of the thru axle is larger than the diameter of the internal axle of the hub: 12 mm (my thru axle) and 9,5 mm for all the quick release hubs. Please, correct if am I wrong here, because I am particularly interested on that conversion. Cheers

in a forum i´ve seen adapters for this, you just put it on the fork and use your 9mm, but looking for this on internet i only found adapters for the hub that are very specific for every model

Nice idea but with qr, the axle ends sit on the dropout and support the weight. The qr skewers only keep it clamped. Now all the weight is being supported by the skewer. idk, I've snapped a few shimano skewers before on just blue trails. this seems too risky.
Isn’t the weight supported by the skewer anyway?

Where did you buy the sleeves that go in the fork to hold the quick release skewer? I plan on doing this as well.
Actually I took it from a roller blades wheel, technically I’m just using of what resources I have. Hehe
Not a good idea fam.. QR works on a premise that you squeeze the forks onto the axle. This doesn’t look safe. But I’m also not a bike mechanic 🤷🏻♂️
So far wheel still works good until now since I put it in. 😀

i think u could make it little bit safer by getting some kind of small pipe and butting that qr thru the pipe and doing the same thing just incase

Bro hindi ako professional sa ganyan though alam ko kung pano mag ayus ng bike, I guess QR sa rear and TA sa fork is okay wala naman problema doon, yung kit e hinidi ko alam kung meron.

The reverse works, this doesn't. If you're going to demonstrate the method, do it properly, or just don't advertise it as possible as it's nonsense.
This i looks dangerous. QR skewers are built for tension you put the weight on them and they are going to fail. And seeing that you sold the bike this way makes me worried...contact the guy you sold the bike its not worth for the price of a rim to break his face

Unsaon ang pag convert sa qr nga frame to TA?
If qr imu frame then TA imu ligid or hub then you have to palit that converter para mapaslak na nimu imu ligid gamit na ang qr but make sure the size is right. 😁
