I'd love to see more billy woods content since it's clear you have a real passion for his work! Even a whole dive into his catalogue could be interesting -- he's so obscure in the grand scheme of things that it's always a joy when I find content about him. Either way, great video! Going to need to revisit 'Maps' after this, and then maybe everything else too...

It makes me so sad that I didn't get into billy woods till this week. But holy shit. I've already listened to every album from History will absolve me on, almost all multiple times. Listening to his music feels both enlightening and validating. You always hear people say stuff with woods like "I'm still dissecting his lyrics from years and years ago" or "Im not smart enough for this" and to be damn sure he does have a pretty high number of obscure references or things phrased in a way that you might have to really think on to get. But at the same time I haven't heard a single track from the guy that doesn't have multiple incredible lines that jump out to me immediately, and with repeat listens it's usually super deep but idk if you're into the vibe it's not actually that hard to get the gist most of the time. Honestly billy woods has a higher "damnn" lines per catptia than any other rapper, even if what your saying damn at is usually some grimly hilarious reminder of an unpleasant aspect of the human condition.

I had the exact same experience finding billy woods. I want to suggest him to everyone, but people have a different relationship with music. Some people listen to it for comfort, others are intrigued.

I've followed Woods' music for several years now, and him and Elucid's work have seriously helped me through some really terrible times. I don't think there's anyone who can touch at the root of the human condition quite like Woods. Most of the time when I like an artist, I play their shit to death for a few days and then move on to newer stuff rarely going back, but I still routinely listen to tracks from History Will Absolve me on down, Terror Management, Hiding Places, Church, Aethiopes. My spine still tingles same as the first listen, and I still catch new meanings and gleam new insights years later. Only other artists that can do that for me are Ka, and Aes, and together these guys may as well be my holy fucking trinity.

Nice video. "Painting a picture like no one else in the industry..." I would respectfully push back by citing Brownsville Ka. I've seen your other vids featuring him. DNA off of Iron Works is the ultimate "painted picture" hip hop track in imo.

Perfect choice! Ka and woods have the 2 best imagery in the entire hip-hop industry in my opinion!
