Your premise of conservation doesn't stand up if you are conserving the species to live in an unnatural habitat. The song is about a wild creature living or not living depending on your point of view, I know I would rather die than live in a cage for the rest of my life. To be perfectly honest I am at a stage in my life were I am considering being confined to the structures of the civilization I'm living in now are perhaps not the best for me.

The sentiment is great but the message is quite misguided tbh. Most zoos probably, intentionally or not, abuses their animals. The top tier accredited zoos however treats their animals very well and play (and have played) an important role in conservation.
This song is also misguided on several aspects of animal behaviour.
