I agree, shot selection, setups is what KSI is lacking. I like JJ, but he's not ready for Jake. He needs to also learn to how to return his free hand, and not telegraph his overhand. I hope he sees this clip and understands what they're saying.

I thought his footwork looked a bit off. He was doing some odd two foot kinda skip into the right hand. You can't do that against better boxers. Too obvious. He was in phenomenal shape though. He could already go all night but he's in better shape now than three years ago for sure.

I think he was improved but there’s definitely still some work to be done. I thought the he fought with emotion instead of being calm and calculated and that’s where the danger is. He’s gotta learn to be patient and not be so aggressive to the point that he loses all control and just throws haymakers. However I think his style of fighting is the most beneficial to win in this TH-cam/celebrity scene because his forward pressure is a nightmare and most guys at this level aren’t great at being on the back foot. I also think that’s the way you beat Jake but JJ has to have controlled pressure and not just walking forward into shots. I think if he can learn to tame that aggression and have it be calculated then he’s 100 percent the best guy in this scene
I don’t think he’s improved much he just fought different opponents. He’ll need some improvement next time as he is supposed to not have ring rust now

I think he showed a bit of improvement and showed how deadly his power can be especially those body shots but against unskilled/scared boxers he was still throwing WILD haymakers. If he can keep his stance tight he will be deadly in my opinion. Lots of power there for sure

Yes he’s Improved a lot but there’s holes in his game that needs improving on also he has had a 3 year lay off which effects the fighter and he’s not gonna be as sharp as he could but he’s gotten the cobwebs off and like he said he needs to up the levels
honestly, I don't think he even got his cobwebs off. It looks so incredibly easy for him and not in a good way. it legit looked like he is beating a lost child lmao. He didn't even got to show half of what he worked hard for. tbf tho, it's only 3 round and he was chasing a knockout highlight which is what I think is contributing to those wild windmill, 6-8 rounds with Wassabi would've been 10x better . Like they said, if he picked his shot correctly, throwing combos and stuff, he would've looked way better and possibly getting a good KO highlights. At least the entire card makes up the main events
I think he got some cobwebs off like maybe the fighting infront people but his boxing skills and fitness hasn't been test or even cobwebs off

How tf has his footwork improved? He still spent the entire fight flat footed and stepping back foot first, his technique is the exact same he threw like 3 jabs and an uppercut with the rest of his punches being overhand/swings, the only reason why his technique would look better is because he fought opponents half as good as his last opponent. His head movement is the exact same the guys he was fighting despite only throwing 1 punch combined we’re able to land some punches because he wasn’t moving and was static. And obviously he’s more composed fighting Swarmz than he is fighting Logan Paul. It seems you’ve just thought of 4 terms you’ve heard in boxing and said KSI has them. The Only people that believe KSI has improved are KSI fans, anyone who knows boxing that watched this event agrees that KSI looked terrible and wasn’t even the best boxer on the card.

Yeah
Ksi was firing with both hands, the knockdown that finished swarms was a short left hand and he didn’t follow it up, he walked forward and reacted to him moving backwards, walking him down.
He was still acting impatient, throwing the jab out without intent, but he’s so much closer to a complete fighter, he just needs patience and adversity
The main reasoning for this is probably the 3 rounds and him chasing a KO highlight in such a short time. He could've thrown combos for a KO rather than a wild shot tho.
I think everyone forgets the refs involvement.

Jj would get humbled by the top tiers in the influencer boxing scene
The whole point was that he had to finish both opponents as quickly as possible, since that was the expectation. If any of those fights lasted two long (or, lord forbid, it came down to decision), it would have been a failure even if he did win both. It's way too difficult to judge how good he is rn when 1: he fought much weaker opponents that kept running away from him, and 2: when he had to finish them ASAP.
His ego got in his way, he got way too emotional and didn’t think strategically. Gift & a curse 🤷♂️
From what I seen he didn’t look like he improved honestly , now he has more shots in his disposal he has a left hook and uppercut and some shots to the body but still no good jab , no cutting off the ring, no setups or feints still throwing the wild overhand very inaccurate

I think KSI was bigging himself up too much this event. He fought to lackluster opponents in one night.
I understand tune up fights but this was just two sparing matches. Even tune up fights can have some element of pressure.
His original 'Pro boxer' was racist or somethin but he still wanted 2 fights he didn't expect him to be terrible

He honestly needs Deji’s trainer!!!! KSI’s current trainer is a black belt in Ju Jitsu, Judo and Aikido, he is also a international level wrestler and power lifter.
i mean Mike Tyson was train with one of the best minds in combat sport Rafael Cordeiro and he looked great
the thing is though daley would completely change ksi as in daley has a certain style and i dont think JJ would be able to implement it in such short time. it seems like JJ is a bulldozer fighter that comes forward and eat shows much daleys fighters, are rangey, in and out, counters, cut down, flick jab, angles, feints, just more intelligence and at your own pace.

Jj should have both his current trainer and Daley help work on defense and head movement because that’s what’s he’s lacking. His balance and power is great but defense helps you win fights too.

NO! he's not becoming a better boxer. Just hits a little harder, more balanced and is way more conditioned. He does not use any boxing tools, no jabs, no feints, no variety, chasing instead of cutting off, terrible timing, poor judgement of distance etc.

Why do people think the refs were 'terrible'? Some of the fighters didn't know how to box and couldn't defend themselves, which were a massive red flag for the refs. Same thing with Ben Askren v Jake Paul. The ref could spot they were going to get hurt, because they couldn't handle what was being thrown at them + the 'at sea/chicken dance' they were doing, meant the ref had no confidence in a man who already couldn't defend himself to continue boxing.
For the KSI vs Jake fight we need the dream team of announcers; Wade, Geordie, Fred from Fred Talks Fighting and Fousey.

Most professional athletes at the top of their sports today were 5 years in by the time they 10 years old.

Watching geordies boxing analysis improvement from way back in 2018, to now. He’s actually learnt boxing, which is way harder to learn than others realise. I’m a proud fan, and can honestly say that he was the most credible commentator on the fight

Yes, Paul is a much better boxer in terms of skills than jj, and I honestly don’t have dog In this fight. I’m looking at it purely from a boxing aspect and the skill level more than minimal.

Paul has a better jab, has decent shot combos, he better defensively and is picking up things in the clinch, little tricks. His movement and footwork is Better. You see I’ve just demonstrated a technical breakdown, not too in-depth but enough, and what I’ve said highlights that they are at two different levels. Now ksi might train more and get better etc but right now, there is definitely a skill differential

What I will say is it will be that first body shot that scared him, look as bad as he looked he has got over 50 recorded bouts in ameture and pros so he knows how to fight, he just clearly can't take a punch

KSI Has not improved at all. He clearly trained hard af for these 2 fights, but he is still doing the exact same thing he did against Logan throwing wild punches. Swarmz and Pineda barely did anything, and its embarrassing to see JJ not knock these guys out in the first round, JJ was missing shots aswell. I agree with Geordie, JJ is taking this way too emotionally that all his skills go out the window midway through the fight.

As a fan I am mentally preparing for Jake to knock JJ out. He didn’t look impressive nor near Jake’s level. Wouldn’t be surprised to see JJ lose before he makes it to Jake if he tries to fight someone with actual skill and boxing IQ. JJ is too egotistical and emotional, he possesses zero mindfulness. Hopefully the next fight he’s off his high horse and actually focused on the game.
