Star Wars is a Dead franchise!!! it's for the LGTBQ & Feminist community!!!!!! Star Wars fans not welcomed!!!!!!!! George Lucas let go of Star Wars, now so have the fans!!!!! bury it!!!!!!!
We were visiting family, and the rental had Disney+. I asked if we could watch the first two episodes together, and then I'd "interview " our grandsons, aged 6, 8, & 14. 6yro: Why did the elf lady want to kidnap the girls? [Thanks, Disney, that was a lovely conversation]. Can we watch Ironman? [Yes] 8yro: Is this the SW you watched as a kid? [No]... can we watch the SW you watched? [Yes! Tomorrow] 14yro: [Quietly played with his phone] Yes, let's watch Ironman. The grandsons have not continued to watch at their house [That's a fail, Disney]. I'm watching the series via a patreon presentation as we no longer have Disney+ at our house. This episode was definitely not meant for me.
I am so glad you asked your grandchildren what they thought of the show as it made for them. It was interesting to hear their opinions. I am not taking any notice of adult reviews but more in interested to hear children reviews as they state the truth and they are the demographic for this show.
I quite like it generally. I think they have captured how kids would act with each other quite well. I also like that they're giving a bit of an arc to Fern, where she realises that she might not know everything or be good at everything as in the first episodes.
That's an excellent point. You could have argued at first that she's another eye-rolling girl boss, but if it really was committed to wokeness, she wouldn't be allowed to make mistakes or deal with the consequences.
I would not know anything about the show if you didn’t do these recap videos. I don’t really care about Star Wars anymore, but it’s still interesting to see what they put out. These videos are shorter and I don’t have to pay for D+. Thanks Jay.
Reminds me of the Sarah Jane Adventures. -Which I watched eagerly enough, because Doctor Who hadn't fully expired yet, I was a huge fan willing to take any scraps, and the side show had more heart and was generally better than the main feature. But it was still a goofy kid's show and Doctor Who still died. BBC was full of weirdos and creeps, same as Disney.
disney failed with Treasure Planet in 2002 but now they have star wars. The thing is it was already a copy so things are getting weird with the copy of a copy
Just like Disney to "treat" kids as adults. Creepy. Also At Attin is just "AT-AT In". Zero creativity. At least they did not call it WalkerIn, StarIn, or TieIn (ba dum tiss). Christoper Walker, walks into a bar. Everyone laughs, good joke.
This live action TV show is boring. I know it's for kids but you know what the bad bash was supposed to be for kids too and that was excellent. This is subpar. I do like Jude Law's character. I'd like to see him go further but right now this show is not going to get a second season. I can almost guarantee it if they've already gringled it a second season. I don't think it's going to get any further. I think it's going to get canceled
This show was another movie pitch that got stretched out into a series. They should have at least dumped every episode at once. There is nothing about these episodes that makes people talk about them throughout the week. And it is clear this episode's story was cut down. I don't think the idea was bad, showing how far a sister planet has fallen, hinting that the leadership on their homeworld is hiding the existence of the sister worlds, and setting up that the old pirate captain wiped out his crew and sought the treasure on his own. But everything is solved too quickly, unless they plan on staying on the planet longer and revealing that Jack didn't just pay for the Eopies. We will likely get more episodes like this as they will have to travel to at least one other sister world to find the coordinates home.
How does a spaceship not have logs or coordinates of it's flight path? This entire show and I have been enjoying so far is based on a bad plot contrivance.
Jay - Boy, am I glad that you are sacrificing yourself to watch this so we don't have to. Not that I would anyway. I'm in mourning for Star Wars... PS new catch prase: "I'd just as soon kiss a blue elephant."
I actually rather like it so far, but the girl bossing is rather cringe, and the color pallet is much too dull. Typically these Disney shows nosedive towards the end of the season, but we will see what happens and hope for the best.
I agree this show is slow, but its lighthearted and best of all, my two daughters love it. My eight year old seems to really connect with the characters, and she can understand it alot easier than some of the other content.
Jay, I don't see this as a Star Wars show but a show with many elements from past movies and shows. I got the feeling of a Mad Max vibe with this episode. I would love to hear reviews from children more than anything else as they state the truth without recency bias from past star Wars shows.
Being 7 in 1977 when A New Hope came out, I loved it all the way till Rogue One. I couldn't stomach The Last Jedi in 2017 and checked out. Its more entertaining to watch channels like this rip on the new stuff. Keep it up.
It’s sad because this show is actually decent. It has potential, let’s wait and see where it goes, but like you said, no one is going to care until Star Wars hits a couple home runs.
I don't get the hate this show gets. I don't like what the commies at Disney and Lucasfilm have done, but I also think the internet at large has decided they will reject anything they make before ever seeing it, and the comments section states exactly that. Skeleton Crew is not great. The pacing is awkward. The aesthetic misses the mark of "the Star Wars look" (my wife calls the pilot episode "Full House in space"). So much of the writing is zero-effort (Captain Silvo = Long John Silver from Treasure Island, SM-33, the creature in his eye is just called literally a "rat," pirate accents in Star Wars, etc.). Above all, it's hard to tell just who this show was made for. It markets as a kids' show, but deals with very mature themes inappropriate for children -- so I guess the developmentally challenged core consumer demographic we call "Disney adults"?
Now they fell the backlash from obi wan, the acolytie and all the other things it took them more than 10 years to reach that point so lucasfilm life with your modern audience when are only her to point at you and laugh
This episode was utterly pointless and everything "happened" fast for no reason other then to fill time and further the plot. I enjoyed the first 3, but this one was a big step down.
I am watching now. 20 minutes in and nothing substantial happened yet. Even duck tales had a story arc in each episode. Edit: Ok, do they turned off a droid that was the big event in this episode. So thrilling...
This series is terribly boring and slow. Why was the General's daughter speaking English with a French accent?!? They are trying to do a pirate story without stakes.
Earlier on they did the whole "I'm the captain now" meme, right? Which is dumb, but hardly worth more than an eyeroll. But if they're now trying to actually make it one of the central parts of the story... You know what, I'm not even gonna bother finishing the thought.
