Dune part 2 is the best movie of the year, and the only long-term cultural milestone film of this year. All other films will eventually be forgotten or lost in the shuffle.
The first two thirds of Dune 2 were excellent but then they overstuffed and rushed the last third, just too much thrown together..ending felt messy and cluttered. such a pity. should of been two movies or maybe edited the first half. still a very good film but could have just been a bit better..failed its landing...technically its beautifully crafted and the stunts phenomenal..for those reasons Dune 1 was a better film for me...the pacing made that movie a complete joy to watch over and over
Can't wait to see A Complete Unknown this weekend in Newport! I'm so glad you liked it, Grace! I think though that it's important to spread out the word about the film to people who wouldn't normally be exposed to it and I actually think that's a very good thing for business. Take Wicked for example, so many people I've spoken to have said they won't go see it because of preconceived biases but everyone I've been around who actually saw the film says it was one of the best films they've seen in a long time. Only keeping audiences segregated in 'high school clique' subgroups is death to the film industry.
I think Timmy actually did really good with the marketing. Seems like he just wanted to get people to see the movie not appeal to the committee. By going on ESPN and even Theo Vons podcast he reached a new audience and people who probably werent even considering seeing this movie

""The show must go on" is a phrase in Show Business, meaning that regardless of what happens, whatever show has been planned still has to be staged for the waiting patrons. There is no evidence to suggest that it is the abbreviation of a longer phrase. The saying and principle are traditional in the Theatre, but they both originated in the 19th Century with Circuses."

""The show must go on" is a phrase in Show Business, meaning that regardless of what happens, whatever show has been planned still has to be staged for the waiting patrons. There is no evidence to suggest that it is the abbreviation of a longer phrase.

Thank you for your recommendations! I never would have thought to see CONCLAVE without your excellent (no-spoiler) summation. Really thought provoking film with terrific acting. I even took my Mother-in-Law to see it (she is quite religious) and she loved it too! Thanks again for your thoughtful reviews!
