i used the scarifier method. much easier and much cleaner than splashing cement around like a maniac. also, when laying blocks the vertical edges need to be "buttered" so you dont have those vertical gaps between the blocks. when you lay the blocks properly the scarifier method is way easier all around. also considered trying the "one finish" method but after putting on two coats i can appreciate why the two coats are necessary for a better end result. cheers.
@@lobsta1124 what ever method works for you just stick with it. Remember everbody works differently and prefer different things, one finish is oly done when requested not every client wants that, infact its mostly done for trowel on purposes. 👍
@@impressive_builders on my very first try. i started doing it the way you're doing then said "hell no" ... the thing too with using the scarifier that even if you dont get the wall straight on the first pass, its very easy to straighten out whatever you missed on the second coat. if you have those vertical gaps between the blocks the scarifier/scratch coat method wont work though (i think)
