The whole “if you have time to watch me, you have 5 dollars. If you don’t have 5 dollars you should be working” argument really bothers me. It makes it abundantly clear that none of these people know what it’s like to be actually broke. So the people going to school and working full time that have to live paycheck to paycheck can’t sit down for an hour before bed and watch a streamer? Every waking hour or their life should be work? They just don’t get a break ever I guess, and if they do it’s their fault that they’re broke. How disconnected from reality can you actually be to think that way? Poor people just don’t deserve hobbies.

It's not even just that you can be busy and need a break; I've got a chronic illness that leaves me stuck at home all day every day unable to work, so yeah I have endless time to watch youtube but I can't get a job so have no money. I don't wanna sound like one of 'those people' but it's ridiculously ableist of her to assume that you're financially irresponsible if you don't have money.

As someone who hasn't even reached affiliate status on Twitch (meaning subs aren't a thing for me yet) and is doing it for fun I still have a schedule - 6 days a week 3 hours each. If you want to build a following having a regularly stream time/upload is important, it helps build trust with an audience and means they might end up scheduling you into their day, maximising their view time. Streaming randomly, while it might be more convenient, doesn't boost you into building a following

So stuff like, The Sims, Minecraft, and Stellaris are my main plays atm. I'm planning to get Cities Skylines when I've finished off uni for the year, so that should be somewhat enjoyable hahah. When I get my back to my consoles I'm probably gonna start playing the Final Fantasy VII Remake.

If they are watching the content though then they clearly LIKE the content and if they were subbing then the creators wouldn't be complaining. There is a consumer entitlement issue on the internet. People wouldn't expect to visit the cinema daily and not have to pay but its the default mindset for people on the internet no matter how much they enjoy the content and how much of a persons content they consume
