Having declared my dissatisfaction with this sharpener last night th-cam.com/users/postUgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ I thought about the problem some more. It occurred to me that I might be undoing each attempt at achieving a sharp edge by the repeated attempts. So, I tried to clean up the unsatisfactory result by honing with only positions 3 and 4.Miracle!! A really nicely sharpened chef's knife, more than enough to handle my needs. Admittedly, it did not reach professionally sharpened razor-fineness, but it is now significantly sharper than it was. A bout of breaking down carrots convinced me. So, major apologies to the manufacturer, Amazon, and all happy and potential owners! Follow the directions: don't buy it if you have ceramic blades; and don't overwork your knife blade.
Thanks for giving us a try and for sharing your review! The Tumbler roller grinder is not suitable for serrations. The serrated heads of the bread knives are ground off and the surface of the diamond sharpening disc wheel can be damaged.
How do you know what the optimal degree is for sharpening? I have all sorts of knives I want to sharpen from kitchen knives to hunting/tactical knives.
Almost all kitchen knives can be sharpened with the 20 degree angle, as it is a common angle in the industry You can use the 15 degree angle for harder blades, for example Damascus knives or blades with a core steel that has a higher hardness 15 degrees is steeper than 20 degrees, which gives you a higher sharpness, but at the same time can dull faster due to the very sharp edge
Bought this, used it once and it worked well. Now just got it out to resharpen and the drum barely rolls. It takes an extreme amount of force to roll it… any ideas how to correct this?
We don’t sell on Amazon at this time! But, yes we ship to Canada. You can select Canada as shipping country in the checkout (Please read our shipping terms for shipments to Canada).

Most Pocket Knives can be sharpened with the Tumbler and the 20 degree angle However, there are special outdoor or tactical knives that have extreme blade geometries where it can be difficult But if it is a normal pocket knife, it is possible without any problems
Why does the roller not roll properly? It's stiff when rolling and hard to roll? I doubt that's supposed to happen as it's on an axle. Any recommendations! 😊

Durability of holding sharpness and durability of sharpen angle 15° vs 20°. I wonder if i could use this product on planer blade or wood chisels? It would be nices to see some kind of digital sharpness test. Over all this looks really cool and simple. Takes the time consuming practice required using stone and a leather strop finish.
We appreciate your feedback! Tumbler works with most knives, including but not limited to kitchen knives, cleavers, most hunting knives with a smooth edge, folding knives with a smooth edge. Blades that are not suitable for sharpening with the Tumbler are those at bread knives and scissors. th-cam.com/video/7khINWXpo-k/w-d-xo.html

To be fair, the complexity of using a whetstone to get a good edge is significantly more complicated. Usually that would be one of the only ways to sharpen effectively.
Can the magnetic holder be used on extra large blades or curved blades
