Thanks for the video, great tip! I just got a streamdeck, it's great but I find it weird that long-press function is not included by default. Again, thanks for sharing these tips. and doing so in a funny and entertaining way 👍👍
I can't believe Elgato still doesn't have a simple short press/long press plugin. I have a bunch of smart devices at home. For example, all I want to do is setup a button that turns on a light when I short press it and turn it off when I long press it. I already setup super macros that launch autohotkey scripts that have hotkeys associated with them, but it's just too much work for something that is supposed to be simple.
Definitely is a feature they need to add. Check out VoiceMonkey if you haven't already, really great tool for controlling smart devices. tiny learnign curve to set up, but if you have a few smart plugs layign around, you could automate all of them in an hour or so.
My Stream Deck has been a game changer for software developing, I've started mapping tons of IDE actions that I use a lot, but don't remember the shortcuts for, especially for editor folding and debugging. As far as gaming, I have around 72 hotkey combinations for various Fallout 4 mods and console commands.
That's awesome - I'd never even thought about the uses for software development. 🤔 ...I have no idea what IDE actions are, but, good job speeding up the workflow! 😂
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! 🙏🏻 It automatically came with Win11 when I updated it. Update your machine, then head to "Personalisation > Taskbar" and there should be a little toggle button for Copilot. 🙏🏻
Would it be possible to program a key on the Stream Deck which would go to Discord and "Share" a specific "application" (such as a game), with those on the Discord Chat channel you are currently in?
Just a simple message in chat that says "Hey, I'm playing Minecraft - come join me!" - that would be super simple to make. Let me know if you'd rather me make a short video of this if it gets a bit complicated. 1. In the Stream Deck app and add a new Multi-Action function. 2. Install the Discord plugin, then add a "Text Channel" function to the Multi-Action. 3. Select the server, and the channel. That'll automatically open the right one for you. 4. Add a Delay function for 500ms - 1,000ms. The text bugs out and tried to send it too early if this isn't added 5. Add a Text function to the Multi-Action. Write the message you want to send - the Minecraft message, for example. Underneath the text field, there's a little checkbox that says "Press Enter after message". Turn that on. That's it! Then just copy and paste that key and change the message of whatever game you're playing. If Discord isn't popping up as a focused window for you... 6. Install the Windows Mover plugin. 7. Then, add a "Windows Mover" to the very top of the Multi-Action, and select Discord. The location of the window doesn't matter so you're not "moving" it, you're just making it pop up and focus, so that you can type and send your message. Hope this helps! 👊
I bought a brand new Stream deck + from Best Buy 3 weeks ago and it’s defective. You can’t even pay Elgato over the phone for advanced RMA. You have to wait for some special email link and they are slow A.F. I’ve been waiting to pay and do this what will be a week.
Could you please provide me with the script to open a website using long press? Until now, I have only been able to open Chrome.exe by running windows run and then typing the URL. However, in your video, it appeared to be a seamless process.
Using the StreamDeck there should be an option called "Website" that opens up a site... I'll double-check it tomorrow to make sure it's not an external plugin, but should be built-in. 🙏🏻

You're more than welcome! 🙏 They've actually just added a Photoshop plugin which you may find incredibly useful. Great videos btw!
I've had a Stream Deck + since it was released. The amount of things it can do is honestly overwhelming.

One question, which is off-topic: How did you manage to put Copilot on Windows 11 desktop taskbar?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video! 🙏🏻

Where abouts are you based? I've had a great experience with Elgato's customer support, but could be a region issue. Did they resolve it?
Thank You
