It just my story being a JW and then leaving, pretty simple. I'll post more on my beliefs but I'm only a month out so still coming to conclusions. Feel free to ask specific questions.
I really enjoy your videos ! Shunning is a hard thing to go through. Just remember the org wants us to get depressed & fall apart so we will go back to them. I've been out 20 yrs & shunned for 10 yrs because I choose to attend a nondenominational church. I decided not to let the org "dictate" who I can speak to. If I see family or friends, I make a point of chatting..Even though it's a one sided conversation . I even leave voice mail messages reminding them to check out JWFacts. It's hard for them to consider me "dead" when they hear my voice on a regular basis. Won't bring my family back, but it does force them to "think"! I want them to know that shunning isn't working & that I'm doing really well, that I'm not falling off the deep end! I pray you don't lose your family & your journey to freedom will be smooth 🙏
+my JW story it took 10 yrs of shunning for me to figure it out.. This shunning business is just ridiculous. The org has controlled me my whole life so thought it was time to put a stop to it, at least on my end! We all have to handle it our own way.. I wish you well. Keep the videos coming :-)
Hope you're doing well. I noticed it's been a few years since your last video? I needed all these videos. They started popping up in my feed! Thank you UNIVERSE!
Thanks so much for sharing your experience! I feel like I could be your twin sister in the way you express yourself and by how much you really appreciate being honest with yourself and others. (I watched all your videos, but commenting on this one) I needed to hear the part about not living a lie... Fading out is really hard when all you want to be honest. I guess I have to get over the fears of losing my whole social network... Look forward to more videos from you. 👍🏻😀
Thank you Sis pray about it, it's not an easy decision. The easy thing for me would have been to go back to what I was use to, what I was comfortable with, too all my friends who I still miss and love. For me I didn't want to go back, lie to myself and others about what's true. I pray for all of the, everyday that they come to the real truth. God will help you, email me if you like jhess2008009@gmail.com
Dear Sliced, From someone who did things drastically I would offer a few suggestions, if you're open to hearing that is. Try to really take care of yourself in this process and go about things gradually if you can so that you build up support that will be there as you lose the family and friends you may lose. Save up money, connect with other people and groups you're interested in to make new friends. I can't recommend enough seeking out a professional therapist who specializes in trauma that can help you understand and have compassion for yourself and all the stages you may go through. Another youtube channel Dude771 has a few great videos about exiting as well. I hope some of this may be helpful to you and things go as gently as possible - big hug!
Thanks, your story has helped me. I'm not a JW, never have been, but it amazes me how strong you are as an ex JW. I'm friends with 2 ex JW families here, but now I'm beginning to grasp what leaving your entire family and splitting from JWs alone must've been like. Welcome to your life, if there's anything I can do to help you, ask!
Good video. 03:00 yes there's a huge amount of pressure in The Watchtower for kids to get baptized. Practically all of my friends were baptized between 10 and 16 years of age. Anyone in our circuit who was 17 and not baptized were labelled as "weak".
Thanks Si mon! And yes my friends or cousins who weren't baptized or thinking about it were labeled that and my parents wouldn't let me associate to much with them.
Hello sir! Welcome to your freedom and to You Tube! Isn't it crazy that a normal life and a quite common marital infidelity become shocking and shaming in the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses? Couples drift apart every day. Young guys want to play a sport they are gifted at. Young men want to make out with young women. All pretty normal! Normality is abnormality to a Jehovah's Witness! Peace be with you, Excelsior!
Thanks for sharing your story, one of just an ordinary person trying to live their life, but clearly constrained by the religion, so sad you never got to follow your dream though. So inspired by so many more people telling their story in these videos, proves how many are waking up.
Thanks castle appreciate it very much, I had to because the stories of others helped me so much had to give a little back. Thanks for the love means a lot!
We have a new voice, welcome to the fight soldier. My dad was pretty open about the 1975 thing, but to hear him tell it, people got their hopes up over nothing.
I was a jw for 30 years and when I decided to leave is when my problems started (alchohol) they tried to pull me back in with no success To make a very long story short my then wife divorced me (irreconcilable differences) but I know wink wink, my brother who live about 3 miles from me will not talk to me so he want return my calls, now don't misunderstand they are not bad people they have been misguided by a very powerful and manipulative organization Now I have much love for my brother and my ex my ex because she gave me 3 children two of which she has poisoned against me but my oldest is great we talk all the time Here's hoping that one day their eyes will be opened and they'll see that watchtower org. for what it truly is...
That faith in Jesus is all that is required to be saved, that attachment to a religious organization results in borrowed faith, and is a block to a relationship with God. The two most important ways to live is with a love of God and of neighbor...all the other works and traditions are worthless in Gods eyes when done because you were told you have to in order to be saved.
awesome! Amen! i was never involved with the JW but have a real interest in those that have left, as i also have a background of strong religious regulations. As you have attested, with years of misguided teaching and learning takes time to unlearn the wrong and sift it for truth. I am thankful that you have a conviction and that the experience has left you better for it. These religious systems of the world do often start with an element of truth but then try to become the sole bearer of that truth and authority. When we have our authority in God/Christ alone and understand that it is His work that saves us, we have a clear and free path to live. 1Cor 15:1-4 Believe ->Saved ! "tis' grace alone, almighty, free!"
+trevor metzger that's beautiful they way you expressed yourself man... I couldn't agree more. And you are right There are elements of truth, but that goes with everything.
Good that you ditched the most crazy stuff about religion. Only thing is that it's a bit sad that you still think that there is something fundamentally wrong with being a human. But well, it is better than being a JW I guess.
Very controlling that is why I left 40 years ago,,, and having all these videos to choose from is eye opening ,,thank goodness we have support ,,,leaving the religious cult was the best thing I ever did
I appreciate your honesty. That statement you make about being appointed ministerial servant while you were (secretly) viewing porn and "making out," really illustrates something about the notion of being *spiritually appointed*. I reached a point as a Witness where I didn't put much stock in it, purely on empirical evidence. thinkingwitnesses.org
Thank you Clement! twice I was appointed a MS and both times I was looking at porn. Many of my friends openly admitted to the same thing and most were either MS or elders, including my own brother. They felt comfortable admitting it to me because I wasn't going to judge or report them. I actually want to do another video and go into more detail on that topic:)

well if you were once a witness and now are searching for God ? that is interesting because it might be that you came in a certain kind of drag and you needed a new look on it. but as far as other religions can learn you something ? they can : the devil is able to blind the eyes of the people and for a while you may think you have found something better . Perhaps you come into religions that allowe a lot more than the witnesses do and you will be doing things you have never done before. Babylon is decieving the whole world wo why not you : IF YOU LET GO OF THE TRUTH. but after a while it might be that you want to return as the prodigal son did. ihope you did not harm yourself meanwhile . But is not it possi ble to learn all these things without leaving the witnesses? There is no other God than Jehovah. Jehovahs witnesses are the only religion that serve Him.
+afterraincomessun answer this for me, if it's the true religion why are you watching ex-JW videos isn't that going against your watchtower education? Also how does Jehovah teach us to identify false prophets?
It just my story being a JW and then leaving, pretty simple. I'll post more on my beliefs but I'm only a month out so still coming to conclusions. Feel free to ask specific questions.

Thanks for your video. I left the organization about 20 years ago. I only recently discovered all of the on-line help for xJWs. Glad you made it out.
Hey good to see you're out. Your authentic life starts now. I've been out 20 years, it gets much much better as time goes on.
I really enjoy your videos ! Shunning is a hard thing to go through. Just remember the org wants us to get depressed & fall apart so we will go back to them. Wow that's amazing Lonna I have thought of doing those exact same things with my friends and family

Great job for getting out of there, there are so many leaving, and so many activists. Welcome to the revolution!
+Search for Peace and Truth
Let's do this!
Hope you're doing well. I noticed it's been a few years since your last video? I needed all these videos. They started popping up in my feed! Thank you UNIVERSE!

so great you put your story out there. In the process of watching it now as we speak and I shared it to my group on Facebook. love is on the way.
Thanks you it means a lot, it's amazing how many of us there are I had no idea
my parents were surprisingly reasonable to let me play hockey. Now that I'm looking back on that.
Yea some of my friends parents let them play too and I was happy for them but wished so bad my parents would let me. Thanks for the love man
Good video.

my JW story :-) hope u do more videos, you've really got a talent for it. you would be helping a lot of JWs make their exit.
My brother was scouted at 15 to be a professional surfer! 🏄
My dad woulda let but my mither was not gonna let that happen! 😥
I would have played sports in school too, but I knew what the answer would be. I never asked.
Yea it really sucks, I'll have kids one day and hopefully live vicariously through them:)

To make a very long story short

just curious if you care to answer, what are your core 2/3 beliefs now?

Opening up to them Elders too is just VERY VERY dangerous it could most likely end being public knowledge
@meredpill what lie am I living now?
Do you think you would have left if you hadn't been disfellowshipped?
Kassandra Ragsdale if I had looked into things yes but not sure I would have done that
Very controlling that is why I left 40 years ago,,, and having all these videos to choose from is eye opening ,,thank goodness we have support ,,,leaving the religious cult was the best thing I ever did
Sharon Sheehy very true

Cool stuff, looking forward to it...
everbody sins
You have it all figured out, good job
+Meredpill Worldbluepill thanks for the advice I'll try hard not to
Notice the sister lauren got DF and you the MAN got less of a punishment. Pattern!
Imagine while crusifying you the Elders and uppers are living worse secret lives and preying on kids!
+my JW Story I don't know if you have experienced that
You're cute
Thanks Roxy
ex Jehovah witness I meant sorry
Well I guess you have nothing to lose or worry about

+afterraincomessun ah I see so are you a Jehovahs Witness?
yes i speak like one of them dont i
but i have gone through the road that you are willing to go now :so that is why i give you this advice .
+afterraincomessun answer this for me, if it's the true religion why are you watching ex-JW videos isn't that going against your watchtower education? Also how does Jehovah teach us to identify false prophets?
They don't have to view the videos, sounds like you want everyone to follow you into Gehenna
Fake beliefs? Lol
+my JW story Yeah wth is that suppose to mean?
It just my story being a JW and then leaving, pretty simple. I'll post more on my beliefs but I'm only a month out so still coming to conclusions. Feel free to ask specific questions.
