Older and Patience gave us some of George's best interviews, he just didn't care anymore and told the world how it was, didn't hold back... Sure he may not have been at his peak anymore but he was just funny lol..
Wow, I thought with Older he was very much at his peak - it is a phenomenal piece of art from start to finish and his voice is just as beautiful as always.
He was still not saying specifics - as it is private and he was entitled to that privacy in his life as we all are - He did say someone he loved very much died and if someone was hearing that comment and listening to Jesus to a Child, they could have begun to understand. He didn't owe the press or anyone a public coming out as gay, his family/friends/colleagues/others knew for years but the creepy media wanted to have some sort of public declaration, so disgusting of the media. He said in later interviews after the police entrapped him that Older was his way of "coming out" - if people got it, they got it, if they didn't they didn't. Given the other songs - Fastlove (about cruising) and Spinning the Wheel (about HIV) - how anyone could still not understand is beyond me. But, really who gave a damn? No one I knew cared if he was gay - only the media was after him for decades about it. Poor man, given how sensitive he was.❤
