Blueberry Pie From Scratch

    Blueberry Pie

    45 minutes to chill dough
    about 45 minutes to cook the pie
    utensils:
    rolling pin
    pie pan
    brush
    whisk
    plastic wrap
    tin foil
    sheet pan (for bottom of pie, while baking to ensure safety as it bakes)
    for my measurements i used wet measuring utensils (measuring cup) instead of dry ingredient measurements. This way I can reach more people in their own homes without creating a challenge if they didn't have that piece of baking equipment
    RECIPE:
    Crust:
    4 cups all purpose flour
    2/3 cup sugar
    2 teaspoons salt
    16 tablespoons of ice cold water
    (split in segments of 8 tablespoons that way you can watch if dough seems too sticky as you gradually add it in)
    3 sticks COLD butter
    1 egg and whisk to create an egg wash for the crust
    Filling:
    6 cups fresh blueberries
    1/3 cup sugar
    Juice of 1 lemon
    1/4 cup cornstarch
    1/2 stick COLD butter
