I must be brain dead because I cannot get this plaiting or braiding figured out. But your tutorial is by far the best I’ve seen on TH-cam. 👍

I can't thank you enough for this video. My grandfather and dad were both leather craftsman. I was to cool and now I want to learn.

Have you ever tried the Morgan plaiting soap recipe? You grate one bar of soap, 1 1/2 cup water and 1 pound block of lard (or any pure animal fat), Cook together until the mixture leaves a "trace" behind your spoon as you stir during cooking (always stir). Transfer to a container with a lid, like a plastic container, and allow to cool. The fat and soap emulsify during cooking and because it is now fat anymore, but soap, albeit a very fatty soap. it will not go rancid. This is not a leather dressing, but plaiting soap. It will cool to a paste that is not runny and if it separates, you can mix it back together with a hand mixer. If it cools and it's too liquid, throw it back in the pot and cook it a bit more. If it's too solid, add some water and cook it until the water is evenly distributed and cool again. Aside from burning it, it's so forgiving, it's virtually impossible to screw-up.

You are correct, at this point in time the steps have been recorded but a follow up video has not been edited and posted yet. Sorry for the wait.
