Gotta love that the only thing you need to do to improve the Warhawk is to actually remove a weapon. Just pull the LRM10 and its ammo, and replace the weight with heat sinks.
2:40 This was also how we used to pilot back in MW3 online - keeping your speed variable opened up the width of your lag shadow, making hitting you harder. Nothing helps you corner sharper than hitting reverse as you start to turn, and punching it forward when you apex the corner.
Been waiting for this game to come up for a couple of weeks XD I was watching Jacob play the second game in the stealth Thanatos and he ended up killing ya and we were like wtf at the end screen when we saw the damage
1766 damage is crazy... congrats 👍 I got yesterday in my favorite Mech the Rifleman Legend Killer (2x LB 10-X AC + 4× ER SML Laser) my best damage so far: 1227 (in the most matches I get in between 500 and 1000 damage)... I love this Mech...😊
Oh my god, Baradul this is QuadDamage666 speaking, I REMEMEBER this match! It was a while ago and i was just staring and laughing in ave when i saw your 1800 damage! xD it was so awesome, and i am honored to be in your video!! Stay awesome and thank you for all the amazing videos!!
"Is it LRM day again?" Very much so. Had to deal with three guys in a group yesterday, all LRM 90 Nova Cat Bs :/ Had to sacrifice my Atlas to get my team to push them
You see that all the time with first person shooters. It's not the limitations of the game, but the limitations of the players who don't know f' all about strategy and tactics. They are there to sling dakka around rather than win a match... which is entirely frustrating.
@@fakshen1973 Yeah, but on the upside they often panic when things go wrong. In this case, they did not expect an AS7-D to berserk rush their position. I took 900 damage before dropping, plus a bunch of missiles shot down by my AMS, giving my team plenty of time to follow through and overwhelm them. Totally worth the investment
Nice one. I also feel like the QuadPPC Warhawk is the Mech that gets 1000+ dmg most consistently if played correctly. Even though my personal top dmg has to be the TBR-Prime with UAC5, UAC10 + 6ersl, @~1750
IMX, the mech that broke 1k damage the most consistently was an ALRM50 Battlemaster 1S. But you kind of expect high damage with sandblaster builds like that. High damage with pinpoint builds "shouldn't" happen; it's a result of consistently hitting, but not hitting where it counts the most. I've broken 1k with a double Gauss/double ERPPC King Crab before. Same story; I was hitting people, just not where I really wanted to be hitting them. My highest damage match was in a Zeus (UAC10, MRM30, 4xML, 375 XL), but it was still only in the 1300s. 1700+ is nuts, I'd expect a damage total like that if you were just toying with people.
@@qawamity IIRC your damage includes whatever armour/structure is left on arms after ST destruction. In a lot of cases with PPC builds you want to snap and turn ASAP as you don't need to stare like laser or UAC builds. Early on or when focused I generally snap center mass and start spreading damage while waiting for cooldown. This means that a lot of the time end up focusing the ST more, especially when fighting at range. Besides, when at range you're in control of your exposure/cooldown and you have unlimited ammo, meaning any shots you get out are good. And with 900m effective range, those shots will hurt. FWIW my two most common 1k breaking mechs are a quad-PPC Warhawk, and UAC5/MRM40 Orion.
@@TheInsomniaddict I think the splash from C-ERPPCs kinda' mimics the sandblaster effect you get from missiles. I know it can be hard to consistently hit the CT on enemies, especially when they are deliberately trying to shield their most vital areas. As for playing at range, I can do it if I concentrate on it, but it just isn't my style. I prefer getting in close and dancing with my enemy as we try to tear each other apart... That doesn't work so hot when there's 11 other enemies willing to pour damage into you. Part of why the LRM Battlemaster is my overall best performing long range build, my biggest concern is my positioning (something I tend to ignore in the middle of a brawl). One of my favorite assault brawlers is a King Crab with 2xUAC20, 2xML, and 2xLRM5. The LRMs just give me something to do that doesn't involve closing in too early and getting gang-beat. It's just a thing about how I play, I want to be doing something, I want to be where the action is. Sniping just doesn't do it for me.
@@qawamity Oh, most of the damage I get from my Warhawk isn't while sniping. I very much use it in the brawl. I play it closer to the KCrab you mention. Thing is that with ERPPCs range limitations are almost non-existent, so why not fire continuously at range? As you close in peeps velocity makes your damage less splashy and more pinpoint. You still damage adjacent components with ERPPCs but that doesn't impact your pinpoint. In fact I've gotten quite a few XL/Light engine kills thanks to the splash before I realized a target's CT was still armoured.
Nice one, Baradul. Wish you were still playing, i used to watch daily dose, almost daily. I dont remember my highest overall, been a long time since i played regularly. But i just came back to MWO couple days ago from 5 year hiatus and 2nd day i did 1340dmg with Enforcer, just 4 ERLLs. Feels good.
love this mech, its just straightforward and powerful btw Baradul, I know you don't like advance zoom, but if you can bind a button to lower the mouse DPI you might be surprised how accurate it is at long ranges Also, by pressing 2 groups of chainfire at once, you can fire all 4 as fast as possible with no heat spike- good for a target in the open and you have really low heat
As I understand it, this is incorrect. Ghost heat is generated whenever enough weapons in the same group are fired at the same time, but "at the same time" means within exactly half a second. Binding the weapons to two different groups and triggering them as fast as possible will not save you.
@@mven why don't you try it in the training grounds yourself? Since you can fire the first two PPC at once without ghost heat, the double chainfire will fire the next two at once after a half second, thus avoiding the heat penalty if done correctly
One of my favorite builds to play back when I used to. Should really hop back in the game. Regularly got over 1,000 damage with it when I didn’t get instagibbed by a murderball. Much preferred to chain fire off each arm to keep up a steady stream of Dakka the entire game then dual firing each arm.
What is your mouse sensitivity set to? I can never seem to find a spot that fits right. Might also be my desk/sitting position, though. Also, amazing 2nd game. Damn.

Firing 4-3-4-3-4-3-4-3 ERPPC's keeps the heat from crippling effects. and lots of big chunks of armor /limbs/heads being blown off your opponents from 23 hexes away.... only thing more deadly is the 100 ton 3 ER PPC/ Gauss Rifle build with no heat issues to slow down the killing.....the Gauss is swapped out for the Ultra AC-20 for urban or wooded engagement..... ..that's what I usually had to deal with as the IS commander vs my friends clan ... Personality, I used 5 Large Pulse Lasers with a targeting computer to zero in on damaged locations instead of leaving it to random chance. ..the additional bonus is super fast light mechs become easily hittable compared to requiring a roll of 12 for most others and that alone changes what tactics can be used against you ... regarding light mechs/vehicles
Funnily enough one of my best performing mechs is a Warhawk Prime Quad-PPC build. I think it's running a Mk. III Targeting computer as I found the crits, velocity, and range more useful; you can snap off about 10 PPCs on a normal map before needing a coolshot or having to hide. This is enough to freak out literally everyone near you at lower tiers. Full heatgen and cooldown quirks as well and some armour and movement. ERPPCs are actually very effective in a brawl when used correctly. Also remember that ERPPC damage bleeds, so sometimes shooting an enemy's shield torso will still net you the kill. There's been more than one time where an enemy shields only for me to go full IDGAF on their side torso and still kill them from the damage bleed to CT. Same with arms to ST, and CT to STs. BTW I recommend keeping PPCs on chain fire. I find it works better than volleys. I think my highest is only about 1500 dmg but it was in that mech. I'm also only a mid-tier pilot.
@@ChaosAptom IS ERPPCs do now too, I think. I said "bleed" instead of splash because it works differently from missiles. honestly that’s the difference between comp players and good QP players, comp players would easily kill 10 guys with that dmg. still a nice job, definitely more farm than I can do :)
Which work? Even if we remove Baradul's damage from his team's total, his team still did more than the enemy dealt. And they still lost. Farming damage is not always the way to win. Enemy Flea and Vape did all the work, while Atlas and Big Crabby were playing the bait.
When something with this slow a fire rate gets 1700+, it means your team was utterly horrid in actually aiming- even if dealing damage, they're spreading it like suntan lotion versus a blowtorch. Of course, you're also taking games in a tier where people are still driving lenders vs. their own 'Mechs (the Catapults, notably), so there you go.
He wouldn't have done that much damage if it werent for the dead weight though. It's a double-edged sword lol. If everyone does their job, there are fewer targets to shoot at, and less damage to be had overall.
I love how he casually sneaks a shot between the wall and the pillar on the first map like it's completely nothing!

Did 1600 dmg in a highlander IIC once, the kinda games you live for
Baradul has no chill said noone ever... lol GG Mr Baradul!
you had almost 3 times the damage dealt as your next highest teamate on that last game. you were obviously doing all the work.
Which work? Even if we remove Baradul's damage from his team's total, his team still did more than the enemy dealt. And they still lost. Farming damage is not always the way to win.
Enemy Flea and Vape did all the work, while Atlas and Big Crabby were playing the bait.
They won by capping, the most boring of wins.
Is like winning a smash game by camping for a timeout, you won the pussy way.
Nice, GG!
Oh my god....
I've never seen more than 1,400 before. Ever.
Is that the most you've ever gotten?
Baradul must have some serious back issues carrying so much dead weight lol I would be livid to do so well in a match and lose. 🤣
He wouldn't have done that much damage if it werent for the dead weight though. It's a double-edged sword lol. If everyone does their job, there are fewer targets to shoot at, and less damage to be had overall.
TONS of DAMAGE!! 1766! Just needed 10 more damage for a good joke.
Fire two-one-one PPCs. That should alleviate your heat spikes. Don't fire them in pairs.
