The intro somehow reminds me of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (one of the most understated games ever).

I spent a lot of time playing it in the past - and really enjoyed it.
You can strike with both weapons, but it is in Power Stance mode. You can check out how to get into that mode because I am too lazy to explain 😁
