DAT SKILLSHARE FLEX! haha. Man Life in Japan seems pretty normal! Must be nice to have busy streets! :D My fav shots must be 3:43, 3:48 and 5:16. But the pigeon shot was also cool!

I swear you've had skillshare sponsors in the past 🤣
It's a bit weird, people are there, but the dynamics and emotion has changed so much, it's just not the same. And masks...

@@UlyssesAokiPhoto Haha. Yeah my mother was in japan in January and she was shocked that nobody kept any distance lol. In germany people are barely outside and it is depressing for street photography. Been doing mostly landscapes :D. By the way I might come to japan this march. But only Osaka. But not 100% sure. Don't really want to travel right now but might have to.

I love the cinematic quality in this video. Seems you've changed the style now that you've moved from the seamless paper, and I like it a lot. Also, as usual, great thoughtful video with terrific photos!

I find that I've been in a bit of a funk, and it doesn't help to live in a small town (usually the only one on the street with a camera, so I definitely stand out). Walking around in Tokyo again would definitely bring the spark back. Your video makes me want to visit again and do nothing but shoot the streets for two weeks or so.
Would definitely enjoy more videos like this from you, so hit the streets more often and be sure to share with us!

curse the alg. Loved your video man. I often find I take best photos by myself when I'm wandering my home city, but it's so fun to hang with the homies and exchange tips and tricks

    • @UlyssesAokiPhoto

yeah tbh the algorithm has hated me ever since I stopped posting "camera reviews" or impressions. which sucks because I've actually been putting more and more work into it...

Sweet vid! A couple of thoughts: I just saw your “what’s in our bag vid” and see that you truly get hangry for those specific gummy bears. Also, I have not been in Japan since 2014, so seeing your app version of the Suica (I think that was the card) was mind blowing. Lastly, a day of photographs is inspirational. Beautiful images and motivating to make a day of it. Thanks!

Honestly, it's nice to see people outside and it's great that you had a whole day to shoot! It's been freezing here in Montreal, and we've had a curfew of 8pm for most the dark winter months so it's been a rough winter. Trying to live vicariously through videos like this one!
Some of the shots are nice - particularly the one at 3:50. I like how you explained your reasoning/ideas behind the pigeon shot too, it's always refreshing to see people talk ABOUT photographs and not just the way they look.
I agree about shooting with other people too. It can be weird, just like shooting while listening to music tends to throw me off! But these days shooting with other people seems more and more appealing!

An honest days work. Of the lot I liked 7:11 the most. A couple notes.. Are the gummies you're talking about the "TOUGH" gummies that have the soda flavors? I just had some while shooting last week. I dunno definitely chewing on something while shooting gets my mind going. Also you like the band Phoenix too? Nice.

I remember the place at the end, with the reed and lake. There is a temple if I remember correctly, in the middle or some on the bank. There were seating places with tables and it was covered with see through plastic tent. I remember trying very hard to get anything out of it. I failed miserably :D.

probably true, but also because I just showed more images from a day of shooting than usual. remember, normally I'd "post" anywhere from 0〜3 (max) or so images from a day like this
