    Looking good Jordan. Have you considered adding a few pounds way up front on the nose so you can keep more power in it on the hit while keeping the nose down? Obviously the long term solution would be revalving the front struts/shocks. The cars short wheelbase and stock suspension definitely makes for a challenge at your power level!

    Kinda new & subscribed. May I ask if this is the only series with muscle car racing ? Crazy fast but if you can floor it & keep it in the groove anyone can do it. Probably why the Top Fuel , funny cars etc... drivers make so much money cause they are driving & feathering the acceleration if needed instead of computer timing a run ya know , so is there a drivers league like it use to be ?

    Why does this video say L-88 ? I had what you might call a mock facsimile of an L-88 back in 1969, that basically was built with L-88 internal guts, that was transplanted into a 67 Chevelle and a 4:88 rear end .
    And it was fast enough for what it was back then, for the mid to high 11s, but there’s old dragstrip records from back then, of L-88s & ZL-1s that were in the low 10s in the qtr. But he never mentioned anything about what that engine actually was, and what they had done to it. And I don’t know what could be done to a legitimate L-88, back in 1969 anyway, other than a super charger, or a blower that would bring the horsepower up to 750, without risking damaging it ?

    • @HorsepowerDepot
      @HorsepowerDepot  ปีที่แล้ว

      We’ve done that test. Actually did a video on it a while back. They do and they cause a big power loss when using the factory style exhaust. I built this set of side pipes myself and they flow very well.

      @BEANS-O-MATICtransmissions ปีที่แล้ว

  • @396375a
    @396375a ปีที่แล้ว

    Perhaps a dumb question, but being a totally stock appearing car, is there a point where the acceleration and MPH start affecting the car's ability to keep the front end from lifting too much while going down the track.

    • @HorsepowerDepot
      @HorsepowerDepot  ปีที่แล้ว

      We’re not going fast enough for that to happen. That’s a 200mph in the 1/8th car problem. We’re going 118-120 in the 1/8th.

    The parachute alters the stock look but what can you do? It's a needed safety item since you'll be going 150 soon. Nobody wants to see you guys get hurt or killed and I for one do not want to see F.A.S.T. turned into an 1/8th mile or 1,000 foot event just to eliminate parachutes.
    Would it be possible to weld some nuts to the wheels so you can put some screws through the trim rings? A couple of screw heads might not look completely stock but it would look closer than no trim rings at all.

    • @HorsepowerDepot
