the 2025 sport is SO much cleaner than the previous gen the startex is such a nice touch and the bronze accents vs. that weird orange/red (looked super cheap imo) makes a huge difference happy with my 2024 premium (especially @ 2.9%) but man, these are nice
This is by far the best looking ‘25 Fozzy I’ve seen. The black with bronze trim and wheels looks mean! Would look even more sinister when the windows are tinted.
I would imagine it does on rough roads or off road, but around town on paved roads I literally can’t tell much of a difference between this and a 17” wheel trim level. 🤷♂️😅
I appreciate the breakdown review of each different model. I wouldn't worry about the time factor going over a bit as your reviews flow nicely and keep the interest level up. I'm just not sure how I feel about the 19" wheels. To me it seems as though it would take away some of the ride quality. I felt somewhat like that when I got my 2024 Touring Forester with the 18“ wheels. I guess it boils down to preference like anything else. I will say however I feel there is a bit of sticker shock between the 24-25 models. I know there have been improvements, but that difference of between 2,000 to $2,900 depending on model seems a bit excessive. Looking forward to the 2025 Touring Edition review and your thoughts compared to your review on the 24 edition.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and opinions on both the video and the vehicle! I have a Limited review I’ll share publicly in the next few weeks from my video reserve (membership program). I haven’t driven the Touring yet but I hope to within the next couple weeks! It will definitely be interesting to see how it compares to your 2024 Touring. The Limited was very nice! But I agree, I personally wouldn’t want larger than a 17-18” wheel, even though the Sport with 19’s feels just as smooth to be honest haha.
I agree with the sticker shock. I'm glad I got a 2024 and didnt wait. That one also has the 18 inch wheels which for me is great plenty. They also muted some of the details on this 2025 versus the 2024.
I can't figure out why the heck they won't put the turbo engine into the Forester. Seriously, I'd have purchased one already. Really enjoying the thorough walkarounds and reviews of the Subarus! -an Idaho native currently living in Maine.
It would be interesting to see what happens to sales figures or if a turbo Forester brings buyers from other brands rather than just internal competition. Both the Forester and Outback sold a few tens of thousand units more in 2023 than in previous years. But still nothing compared to the rav4 or model y.
Whats your thoughts on getting the Subaru extended warranty? and do you know how much on average the extended warranty's are? I am thinking about getting the Forester Sport Model. Thanks
An extended warranty is not something I’ve ever historically thought you should feel obligated to buy, especially if you trust the vehicle and brand you’re driving. But with all the modern electronics and crazy complexities of modern vehicles, in addition to astronomically over priced labor rates we bought a 10 year / 100k mile warranty on our new Forester so that we have peace of mind. It covers bumper to bumper and powertrain. I can’t share our specific deal, but I can say there’s a lot of wiggle room for the price to come down several hundred dollars if the dealer actually wants to make a mutually beneficial deal. Also all sort of mileage and time frame options. Best of luck!!
Checked one of these out at our local dealership this week. I have to say, I'm not a fan of the copper trim at all! Otherwise I would have gone with the Sport trim.
I would imagine they’re all very similar in the body roll. But with Subarus full time AWD system providing much better control and not an almost constant FWD bias like the other two I think it handles better on dry ground and immensely better in slick conditions. I’ve driven a number of the current gen Rav4 but only one of the new CR-Vs, and unfortunately not back to back to share better thoughts than these. 🤷♂️😅 Mazda’s like the CX-5 feel sportier driving than the Subaru and their AWD system actually seems almost as good in winter, definitely better than the other two as well. But the compromise is they have a small back seat.
It’s called Dragy! You have to buy the GPS box but then the app is free. It’s pretty cool, I’ve had mine for ~3 years I think and it’s been used hundreds of times.
I don’t have any connection to them, unfortunately. I love the product, but I actually bought it like a year before starting my channel so that I could dial in launches on my old LS1 car, lol.
Are the Startec seats the same ones on the lower trim or are they the faux leather one? I would buy a Sport but if they only come in the copper rims. Wonder how many people out there that wouldn’t either.
To my knowledge the Startex seats are only on the Sport trim level and the Wilderness (when it comes out). The last generation Forester only had Startex on the Wilderness. Also, I’m unsure if Subaru has any fake leather, I think it’s all real leather. Which is hilarious because on their commercials they try to appeal to the animal and dog lovers.
If I were a betting man I would pick Subaru. But I have driven a few Mazdas in the snow (videos on my channel) and they did much better than I was actually expecting.
I like the new interior. A few things that turn me off are the Explorer front grill, the bronze wheels are just a strange color of bronze (I like bronze wheels) and a $2500 base price increase? That's significant.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on it! I did a review video a few weeks ago of the Base, Premium, and Sport and I also included a 2024 Base model. If you happen to watch that video you’ll see the 2025 Base does look substantially more loaded than the 2024. But also it’s a shame that it’s such a price hike. 😢
I definitely think a lot of the upgrades the new Base model has should actually be an optional package and not standard. But then again if it didn’t have for instance the standard roof rails then Subaru would have had to slightly R&D a different roof structure to accommodate that. So idk. 🤷♂️ lol
Right at that time stamp was when I had applied both the brake and gas pedal to slightly rev up the engine to be making more power at the higher RPM, that way the vehicle could launch forward a few tenths of a second faster than it would have it I simply floored the gas pedal off of the low idle RPM. This is not necessarily good for the transmission or torque converter as it builds up heat quickly, that’s why I only hold it for a brief moment. I hope this answers your question!
I actually see Subaru selling a lot of these to people who are tired of waiting for Toyota to produce more RAV4s. This gen Forester is the better looking of the two but as mentioned power is lacking.
Sighs.. no matter how much I like Subaru and how many times look at it, my mind keeps thinking Ford Explorer, Ford Explorer.. What a sacrilege Subaru did to this car.
Yeah, that’s true! Just like the orange accents did on the 5th gen. Hopefully Subaru surprises us and offers new colors in future years and doesn’t keep it the exact same for the next 5 or so years. 😅😬
Sport....what's sport about it. It still has the naturally aspirated 2.5Lt which has been around for an eternity. Come on Subaru inject some excitement into the Forester range.
I finally saw a 2025 Sport in the River Rock Pearl. IMO it looks great in person. If it had the 2.4T, I would buy it in a heartbeat

Awesome review! How are you able to get such amazing cars to review for your channel?
That’s a good question! I’ve thankfully been fortunate enough to make some good connections.
Good informative review 👍 .. with the tuned suspension & larger wheels, does the “Sport Trim” has a firmer ride?
I would imagine it does on rough roads or off road, but around town on paved roads I literally can’t tell much of a difference between this and a 17” wheel trim level. 🤷♂️😅
I miss the orange strip. Will keep my 2019 sport package Subaru

Would probably kill the outback sales
Same, lol. I really hope they offer it later on during this generation. I’m so glad you enjoy them!! And very cool! 🙂

How is the handling and body roll? Is it better or on par with Rav4 or CRV??
I would imagine they’re all very similar in the body roll. You should talk about the wide opening doors ... Subaru has the widest and is a selling feature ...
Which GPS app are you using, I don't recognize it? Thx

Need to make an Forester XT.
That’s for sure!

Who has the better AWD system Subaru or Mazda?
If I were a betting man I would pick Subaru. But I have driven a few Mazdas in the snow (videos on my channel) and they did much better than I was actually expecting.
I thought the difference in Towing was because the Wilderness had a transmission cooler
いつも白色やカーキばかり見ていたので、黒は新鮮!
かっこいいな〜
For sure! Thanks for watching.
I for one welcome the new 2025 Subaru Explorer. ;)
Haha 🤪
Subaru overcharges in Canada, they sell the crosstek for as high as 50g, might as well buy forester then

Forester can't get the hybrid version fast enough.
sport? no turbo? 9s? it's a joke

The bronze highlights will make it look dated in a couple of years.

There's a hybrid version on the way with Toyota hybrid components. It will be a better version than this slug.
Not 38k
Not sure I like the color and shape of those wheels.
Explorester😂
Except quality made & reliable 😁
Haha
Looks like a Ford Explorer
