Yeah I don't like the foundation either. Makes my pores look huge after hours and makes my skin texture look worse. Also it dries darker on me which was kind of disappointing. I too got small bumps on my face after using it. It must be the strong fragrance which caused it. Loved this detailed review. 😙😙
I think it got darker on me too, but I didn't notice it earlier because I had already gotten a shade that's too dark. Thanks for watching hun.

Me. I boycotted huda. until huda can say ‘yes, i saw the beauty bakerie ad, and we liked it and wanted to do something like that’ .... because the owner of beauty bakerie went live on twitter and said that huda’s team asked her to send them a pr package of her loose powders . ITS WAS NOT A COINCIDENCE love. I saw the entire live stream . Huda has not addressed the situation till now
Exactly! On Nykaa they were selling the old eyeshadow palettes till last week. Only now they have the new launches. What are we? Ignorant people willing to pay for expiring products?
This is more of an issue.
The issue got bigger because even the Ad campaign was similar. And the main problem was how Huda reacted to criticism with an attitude of 'Haters gonna hate' and I don't care. A genuine person might have acknowledged the similarity. The whole thing cannot be just a sad coincidence.
Huda never responded to people even when during the launch of Huda beauty in India, all the products were just a few months from expiring. Paying 1.6k for a lipstick but it expires in 4 months? Nope. She shouldn't start cheating her customers just because it is a popular brand now.
So, can never think of this as just a coincidence.
There is always MAC which is cheaper and better than Huda, for me.

I really don’t like her eyeshadows and people in India are saying she launched the old eyeshadow palette here instead of the rose gold remastered pallet. If it’s true we don’t need the rejects of the first world.
P M she launched the rosegold palette in India in January...and rosegold remastered was released in the last week of May i guess...Anyways rosegold remastered has been launched in India anyways...it takes time to get new launches in India Anyway!

It's not just the naming, it's the promotion she did which attracted all the bad attention to HUDA. Beauty bakery had a retro baking theme for her promotion and she copied it 100% and didn't once acknowledge the fact that the theme was "similar" at least. She had approached Beauty Bakery for PR something. Guess she wanted to buy the brand but since it didn't work out and HUDA is obviously richer, she decided to steal and rip off Beauty Bakery. Will never buy/support anything fake, whether expensive or not.
I think people are more angry because she didn't acknowledge Beauty Bakery at all.. what she did is obviously not illegal, we have seen many repetitive concepts in makeup..but I do hope from this situation she learns from this and acknowledges where the credit is due and I think everybody should do that, not just her.
It's funny how Huda has all the money, a PR team to do the research and a content team to give her ideas and ALL they could come up with is Baking
As others have pointed out, it’s not that people are upset that she used the concept of baking. We all know baking has been around forever. It’s the fact she a) copied the idea of the campaign b)lied about not hearing about the company (beauty bakery) c) lied about having never received a pr package and. D) blamed it on her team. He company is worth way too much money to not have people who do research about what type of campaigns companies are up to. On the flip side, I agree with you regarding companies doing similar ad campaigns (unicorn theme, for example). IMO, despite the similarities, I feel each campaign is just different enough. This was not the case with HB
I also think that, at least in the US, people are upset about the gold remastered palette (the quality and the fact it’s really similar to the prev palette) and the fact she depicted WOC in a negative, mocking way on her Instagram. I saw screen shots on Reddit (her posts)
That said, I have the baking powder and it performs wonderfully! I’m glad it appeared to work for you! :)

This is why I love watching your videos.. you are very logical n practical and dont jump on various bandwagons.. I think the same thing about the baking powder controversy.. its called a "baking" powder... the ad campaign looked pretty in tune with the theme.. it could be similar to beauty bakerie's, a brand I love!, but i feel its just a coincidence too.. Honestly, i feel huda gets a lot of flak specially from the US beauty community because she is an outsider who made it big. I wish the same influencers would speak about american brands like "bad habit" which blatantly copies her stuff.

Bad Habit copies all brands not just Huda.. and it's mostly eyeshadows and blushes and stuff.. it's a cheap alternative to high end brands. However Huda's campaign was always biased. She never featured people with dark skin tones in her adverts or tutorials until it became a trend to do so. There's a slight difference there.
She is no ‘outsider’ and no one is victimizing her. She has just shown poor integrity...
Also she was raised in the US found opportunity here in the US and operates out of the middle east.. so I don't think anyone is attacking her for being an outsider.. no one cares about her ethnic background. In fact there have been discussions on who a self made billionaire is after Kylie's magazine cover with many pointing to Huda as a better example
I think Huda has some hits and misses when it comes to makeup . Her foundation didn’t suit me at all . But the lack of brown skin representation on her page is disheartening. Also I didn’t appreciate her giving out a bad palette ( rose gold first ) and re mastering the same when she ran out of ideas and didn’t acknowledge the mistake made to the 100000s that bought it. At least morphe and Jaclyn apologised , replaced etc. But Huda did not. Now with B.B. powder. . Baking as always been hudas thing ..so that idea isn’t invented by BB. But I still fail to see how a team as big as hers didn’t see a concept similar to an inde brand. I will give her the benefit of the doubt but will still keep my one eye open towards her in the future.
I don't think people are mostly saying baking itself she stole from Beauty bakerie. Her campaign was like an exact copy of BB's. And Huda asked a PR from BB, so she saying she dint have an idea about the company? No thanks 🙄

Hi Jovita, weirdly the foundation looks much nicer on my face when I only use 1.25 pumps. I have a lot of imperfections and hyperpigmentation so I need the coverage, but the more I use, the more it settles into lines and pores and the worse it looks. I use 1 pump for my whole face then the extra quarter pump just to gently build in areas where I need it. I also find using a damp beauty blender helps with the cakey look. I’m dry and with these techniques thankfully it doesn’t cling or cause me any problems hth xx

It can never be an unfortunate coincidence when the campaign also had the same theme. I don't appreciate Huda Beauty for not owning their mistake and other's still supporting her rip off as an unfortunate coincidence..jus to stay in PR list..unlike Jeffree!! I love your reviews and appreciate your logical approach to this topic, but there's no denying that Huda Beauty directly and deliberately copied Beauty Bakerie. She didn't copy the baking concept, she copied the ad campaign! Literally the only difference in the ad campaigns for Huda and BB is that Huda is standing up and BB is sitting on the floor. Baking isn't a new concept and other brands have played on that idea; like you said, mermaid concepts exploded and everyone was doing it but they weren't copying, they were all unique in their own way. Beauty Bakerie themselves said on Twitter that there's nothing wrong with Huda Beauty using the baking idea. However, it's important to either differentiate from others by putting a unique spin on your ideas OR give credit to your inspirations if you're doing a similar concept.
I know this is very petty of me to say, but the fact that you said "Her product is called the flour...something?" shows that you could have invested a little more time into investigating the issue before making a video about it. Perhaps in the future you could do a video trying Beauty Bakerie products like you did here with Huda Beauty? I'm sure a lot of your subscribers including myself would love to see that!

The problem with Huda as a person is she’s fake af .
She blames everything on her team like a wuss . If you’re the boss , man up and accept responsibility nevertheless .
Also the story she made claiming to have never heard of Beauty Bakerie whereas some time before she asked Beauty Bakerie for a PR package of their setting powders so that’s a blatant lie .
She has a team , don’t tell me no research was done before launching a product . That’s ridiculous and I don’t believe a word out of Huda’s mouth anymore .

I am glad you brought up the subject of coping because in the beauty and fashion industry there is no such thing as patents. That’s why most luxury branded shoes and bags have their cheaper counterparts as well. Sometimes you don’t know if a shoe is Givenchy or Steve Madden.

The idea of easy bake and what not isn’t what made me feel like hydra ripped off beauty bakery, it was the marketing images, a couple that I had come across look like they are ripped right from beauty bakery.
The time onwards i saw your IG story about you reviewing this foundation,i was really excited.I too agree 430N would hv been a better match for you as i am NC 43.5 and toffee wrks fr me.It does has a perfumy smell and i like many other other too brokeout after using this foundation,so it is definitely not suitable for sensitive acne prone skin.I totally agree with you on the fact that easy bake thing was just a big co-incidence.Even before the easy bake powders were launched,huda was already able to carve a niche for herself in the beauty industry then why will she let that hardearned recognition go purposely. I think, even if Huda hasn't stolen the concept, she should've acknowledged the issue at least. If she's copied, yes, I've copied. If she hasn't, no, I haven't. End of story.

I highly appreciate your views regarding the foundation,I liked the fact that you did not shy away from calling a spade a spade.I really like the Huda beauty desert dusk pallete but don't like the foundation at all.As you said it just accentuates the pores and fine lines,and I too have noticed bumps on my face.To all the subscribers,I just request you to stop your hate for Huda,she is a human like all of us and everyone does mistakes.Stop spitting hate on her,but yes I agree whether purposely or not,the easy bake idea is actually copy and not inspired.

Same thing happens with me when i use Maybelline fit me Matte and poreless foundation... It accentuates my pores more than it was before i don't understand why even if i use mattifying primer.

I think it was not intentional from her end at all, it all went a little overboard against her. But I feel she should come and say her side of this story and put things to rest :) everybody is copying each other whether it be concept, packaging, shades, etc. anyways I love HUDA:)

hi jovita,, i m regular viewer.. why dont you make a foundation mix up video.. i accidentaly mixed loreal Toffee and cashew 140G and got my exact perfect colour 😊i was about to throw both foundation bcos itvwas not my colour.. if u dont mind.. try mixing up foundations of different brand and make a video to match indian skin tone.
Yeah it rite its same with hair straighteners my sis in law was the first girl.in the world to have one and no one had one i asked around every1 was confused so i thought they are mad it was amazing thing for my hair it was a real mircle. Also i was the first girl no lie i have proof of this i was the first girl to discover a highlighter and i didnt know were to apply no imstructin so i used put were u highlight funny serioluy i could have become a rich women and made my own but what i dont understand is the way people apply it is wrong. Some people have got it right copying other as but my clients say to me on I didn't know u apply it here and u apply correctly u get the benefits from it. I feel like it might have been an unfortunate coincidence too but what tipped people off was the way Huda reacted to the situation. She didn’t seem to acknowledge the situation. Rather she just followed a rebellious attitude which might have given people the wrong perception as well.
