    I've had to be OCd for doing security. And it sucks. We did a similar course. But either way, it still sucks. OC is horrible. Most people will tell you that they would rather be tased than OCd. It's true! Big ups to these guys.

    When I got tased, I was yelling for about 3 seconds thinking it was 5. I let out a final yelp when I realize I wasn't done yet. It's a pain unto itself. As for OC, that just sucked for 40 minutes.

    I have a question what if u wear contacts/Glasses how do u go about getting OC sprayed?

    • @ems324
      @ems324 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe that they're told not to wear contact lenses on the day of OC spray and if they wear glasses they have to take off the glasses. But even with glasses the OC will have the same effect.

      One my class mates wear contacts and he took them out for OC day.

    • @bdogg20101
      @bdogg20101 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely you should not wear contacts when getting pepper sprayed. It can melt and cause damage to your eyes.

    And corporal was right. If they can freak out minimally or not at all in the academy, then they'll do fine out in the field

    Police Departments should explore GRANT opportunities for purchasing The Bola Wrap Devices! The Department of Justice CURRENTLY offers funding opportunities to support law enforcement and public safety activities in state, local, and tribal jurisdictions; to assist victims of crime; to provide training and technical assistance; to conduct research; and to implement programs that improve the criminal, civil, and juvenile justice systems! Communities that have been affected by mass violence incidents may be able to apply for assistance through several DOJ grants. I think these devices could be petitioned for funding under by first implementing, internally, new Community Policing Policies which include the the LEAST, PROVEN AVAILABLE TOOL. Wording this into a policy, allows for Departments to present petitions for federal funding for these devices! THIS IS PERFECT FOR IMMEDIATE STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR MENTAL-HEALTH DEPUTIES, while getting funds for the rest of the Officers in each respective Department!!!!!!!! No issue is of greater consequence to the policing profession, or to the communities served, than the issue of humane options for use of force!
    IMPORTANT GRANT INFORMATION:
    Department Of Justice Community Policing GRANTS!!

    "As the leading community policing experts at the U.S. Department of Justice, we've invested over $14 billion in community policing since Congress established our office in 1994"~ DOJ Representantive
    These 2 agencies are responsible for awarding federal financial assistance to support law enforcement and public safety activities like new training and technical assistance!
