    These videos are amazing! Will definitely be calling JAGER in the future when I need pest removal. Best trap videos I've seen on TH-cam. Keep them coming!

    Very good job given the circumstances! But you have left youtube viewers with the big question mark about the sows. Did they show up at a later stage?

    What happens to the meat?

    • @JAGERPRO
      @JAGERPRO  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Pigs are killed inside the trap enclosure because it is illegal in most states to transport feral swine alive or sell the meat. The US Department of Agriculture does not allow wild pork donations directly to food banks due to swine brucellosis and the pseudorabies virus. Feral swine can be eaten, but it is very important to thoroughly cook wild pork to 165 degrees. Most feral pigs harvested by JAGER PRO™ Hog Control Operators™ are either processed by guests or donated to local families and churches for food. However, there is another perspective to consider. Mission success is based solely on removing the entire sounder from each property since whole-sounder lethal control prevents any pig from escaping, surviving, reproducing or being educated to the removal process. Whether a non-native, agricultural pest is eaten or not has no value in the "damage management" decision-making process. Just as removing all termites, rats and cockroaches from your home to stop future residential damage is more important than ensuring all captured pests are eaten. Insect versus mammal makes no difference to the legal definition of a pest or the Best Management Practices needed to control them. The total number of wild pigs we successfully donate has no bearing on the number of animals we must euthanize. The United States cannot BBQ our way out of the feral swine problem. Any carcasses NOT used for food are buried per Department of Agriculture regulations.

    Hope to see a follow-up where you get those two sows. Can't leave the reproductive females out there- another boar will be along presently and the whole cycle starts again.

    So what happened with the two sows? Did they never appear at the bait site and trap again? Did you succeed in getting them later with a bait hole? Why did you remove the automated feeder?

    • @joshuavigeland9063
      @joshuavigeland9063 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both sows were later dispatched on two different food plots adjacent to Webb East. We had removed the automated feeder because we weren't quite sure if it was the trap that had them on edge or the feeder. This is why we decided to hand bait at that point forward with this sounder.

    Great vid. How quickly are these animals spreading currently? I.e if you remove the sounders from an area how long would it typically take for more hogs to move in?

    • @JAGERPRO

      It only takes 15-18 months for a trained and certified Hog Control Operator™ to eliminate feral pig populations from 10,000-acres using four (4) mobile M.I.N.E.® Trapping Systems. It is common to use 20+ spin-cast feeders (with I.C.E.® Cameras) as bait sites across the 10,000 acres to first locate, identify and pattern various sounders. Then Operators can quickly and efficiently move a M.I.N.E.® Trapping System to the bait site and capture the entire sounder (or sounders) depending on the photo and video intel gathered. But there are several factors which determine how long a property remains at "zero balance" after a successful Integrated Wild Pig Control® (IWPC®) program has been implemented. Future reproduction and migration would have to come from adjacent properties since an effective IWPC® program would prevent escapes, method education and reproduction from the entire generation of feral pigs living on the property.
      Are neighboring landowners implementing a successful IWPC® program?
      Are there enough trained and certified Hog Control Operators™ in the county to effectively implement the IWPC® program?
      Has the state passed legislation to stop intrastate and interstate transportation of feral pigs?
      How well are law enforcement personnel enforcing these rules in the state?
      Are judges and the court system prosecuting those breaking the rules with heavy fines?
      How many criminals are illegally transporting and releasing new feral pig populations in the county?
      The amount of time a property remains at "zero balance" greatly depends on the answers to the above questions. Our IWPC® approach is most effective when the entire county is following the same plan while trained Hog Control Operators™ are performing the work.
