I love this unit not because its an excellent archer, but those blue light arrow trail is just mesmerizingly beautiful to watch. Unlike the Persians, sisters of avelon will light up the sky with their arrows.
Sisters of Avalorn suffer pretty badly against other ranged units, for sure. Really neat result against the cavalry though, and I wonder how that formation would work with other ranged units. Then again, Sisters of Avalorn have some relatively decent melee stats too. Poor monsters didn't stand a chance, what with that magical attack! Very nice final fight with the army there. I think that one's so hard to beat maybe there should be something that acknowledges that a unit managed it, if not in the score itself, then next to the score.
While Sisters of Avelorn are one of the most popular ranged units, I think in most cases Sentinels of Astartil (Yvresse) function as superior to Sisters in most scenarios, they have a large windup but when they hit, they are devastating, combine it with higher melee defense, anti large, silver shields, and shieldbreaker, they do everything you would want a Sisters doomstack to do, better.
Kinda, but you can't boost them through techs or lord skills(excepts Eltharion), especially in terms of ammo and reload skills, therefore sisters is better when you dealing with a large amounts of enemies, they can shoot faster and longer time, so they can do more range damage per battle then Astarils.
@@michaelbraddock467 it is absolutely true, that they do not benefit from tech, or MOST lord skills, Unless I am mistaken, the generalized ammo bonus Lords and Heroes have with certain traits apply universally, even to allied units, I.E Helstorm Rockets for instance. But something else to consider is that Missile damage does not go up with experience, only fire rate, and sisters will dump all their ammo real quick, even despite having more, but one consequence of it is that they have a high potential for wastage. Also you factor in the actual damage of the missiles themselves, Sentinels as a base have a theoretical max damage of ~70400 per unit vs ~38720 per unit of sisters , this assumes the enemy has no resistances, shields, or armor, and no projectiles miss. of course with tech the sisters gain more, as they gain more ammo, but something the Sentinels have over Sisters is shieldbreaker, which reduces missile block chance, also there are certain compositions sisters are weak to that Sentinels aren't where the inverse is less true, I.E. a big primeval glory army, Sentinels would eat them up, sisters would get it done, but be messed up, also nigh invincible legendary lords, such as Vlad, or Luthor Harkon, Sisters have obligate Magical and Fire damage, whereas Sentinels do not, meaning their ammo bypasses magical and fire resistance, its all down to physical and ward save.
I would have to agree with you on this. Sisters bring fire and magic damage to the table, which the sentinels do not. So it really depends on the scenario. Personally, I would use sisters over sentinels, when fighting demons or factions with high physical resistance, or regen. Apart from that, sentinels. And of course, sentinels are a legendary lord specific unit. It will be difficult to get them, if you decide to play another lord, such as Imrik, Alarielle, etc. And I believe it is only fair, that special units for a specific faction perform a bit better than the standard units. If only to give you a reason to use them (I am looking at you Shadow Walkers).
Thanks for the comment. I tested that with another missile unit and the results were significantly better with concentrated attack. My reasoning is that they inflict casualties faster and rout the unit, and thus they can gain better the fire superiority :)

Thanks for the comment. Agreed on that, the arrow animations are rather nice :)
Perfect test. Perfect results. Thank for this all around informations about units😃
Thank You! My pleasure :)
Idk why but I love the sisters, always feels good getting them in a campaign. Watching armies disappear under a light show is very cathartic
Thanks for the comment. Yea, the light show is really nice and at least based on this, they are rather effective as well :)
The Bright Wizard didn't live up to his name, he was so dumb...
Yea, that was a rather nice spell :D Thanks for the comment.
21:58 nice firestorm lol
Agreed on that :D Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the comment. That special marking (e.g. asterisk) might be rather neat addition to the score screen :)
@@QualityGames-ql1jc That's a good idea.
pretty interesting
:) Thanks for the comment.

You may be right there :) Thanks for the comment.

Shooting at hordes actually reduce your own combat res, due to losing ammo to trash units, lol.
Yea, that is rather nice :D Thanks for the comment.
Letting all sisters target on range unit just makes no sense.. let them do 1 vs 1 target they overkill the unit and waste two barrages.
